ok so i know people like to add different grips and tape to their putters and make them unique to their liking. heres my situation and im open to suggestions. i bought a taylormade est putter 110 last nov. for $20. it said demo on it but i swear you would think it was new. i practiced all winter in my living room with it and kind of got used to the feel but my old putter had a fatso grip so i wasn't loving the regular sized grip. about 2-3 weeks ago i put a flatso ultra grip on my putter and my next round out had troubles putting. the round after that i added a lead strip in the cavity part behind the face where it says taylormade. it started to get back to the way it was. so my question is...what should i do to change the feel of this putter. obviously the head feels lighter, i went from a 55g grip to 82g grip and now theres one strip of tape. what are some things you guys have done to your putters? im 6'2" tall and my putter is 35" long. thanks for any tips

Weight can be added to the shaft near the head.  This could be done at a decent golf shop.  What you would ask for is a swing weight adjustment to the original spec.

thank you, i'm new to my area but i think i found a place that does club fitting and its not too far from where i live so i'll have to go there and check it out. there is a golftown near me but when i went in there most of the staff i spoke with were clueless to all my questions. i asked a guy if they carried the flatso ultra grip and he said "i'm not sure if we have that putter" and started to take me to see the putters. i told him no i just want the grip. we were already standing in the grip section! maybe i wont go and see them lol

so these are the mods i've done to my taylormade est 79 tm-110 putter. first image almost 2 full strips of lead tape on the bottom of putter near the heel. image 2 lead tape cut in half and duct taped around the neck on the front side and back side. image 3 lead tape directly behind the face of the putter with 2 small tips by the alignment line. image 4 the 85 gram flatso ultra grip which threw off my feel of the putter and created this post to begin with. i know the mods look ugly and i know some might think "why not just change the grip back to the original" but i didn't and don't like the feel of smaller putter grips. i know this isn't the size of the slim 3.0 or fatso grip but it is larger and feels comfortable in my hands. any thoughts on what else can be done or undone? just did the mods this morning and figured its easier to add or take away tape then it is to get lead powder added into the shaft. taking it to the course this afternoon to play a round...hope i didn't completely ruin the feel...well if you saw my last round putting nothing can be that bad!!!

    • Lemme guess….’ We don’t want any confrontation so nobody says anything.’ Sheesh…..Call him out and fix the problem.
    • Went to a PING fitting day today. Going to be ordering a G430 Max 3w with a 75g x-stiff shaft at 5w length and a 3h. I forget what my fitter did with the shaft on that but she told me she’s going to email the club the specs of everything. The 3w combination we found pretty quickly. As for the hybrid, we tried a bunch of different head and shaft combinations for that distance with mixed results. Then she handed me the 3h and I took three swings with it and knew it was the one.
    • Yeah, this isn't sandbagging. It's outright cheating. He should be banned.
    • That’s quite a generalization. It’s clear that you don’t like water but there are plenty of us that drink it just fine. My daily intake is usually about 20oz of black coffee, 16oz of soda, 8oz of milk mixed into a protein shake, and anywhere between 30-60oz of water. It doesn’t even need to be cold and I kind of prefer it closer to room temperature than cold. I quite like the taste of tap water, with sole exception being the tap water at Magic Kingdom (it’s terrible). I can’t stand when people bring me tap water with a lemon wedge in it. I didn’t ask for lemon in my water.
