Good Day All, It always seems to come up during the Masters, the obvious discussion of how there has not been a rookie Masters winner since Fuzzy in 1979(?) although a few have recently come close. This got me to wondering how this compares with other events and courses for winners and the success rate they've had in their first trip to that particular venue or course specifically. It is a huge deal at each course to have local knowledge, sight lines, trouble areas, knowledge of green break nuances, etc , etc. It could most definately be argued that nowhere is the local course knowledge more important than at Augusta but a win at any course the first time being there is a huge accomplishment for the any golfer (and caddie!) It would be interesting to see the success rates and how long it has been at some of the various other courses since a first time entrant has won there. I'm going to do some digging and see what I can find! Gully
