Joel Iacovelli at Golf Etc in Cary fit my clubs for me and gave me an impromptu driver lesson. He made a huge impact in how I hit the ball in about ten minutes. If I ever decide to pony up money for lessons on a regular basis I would definitely consider him. I have also heard great things about Tom Ream at Prestonwood but I have not taken a lesson.

Thanks, PapaMatt. Good idea. I've gone to Joel for club repair and re-gripping. I didn't know he gave lessons. I hope he makes it there. It never seems busy when I am in there. Have you heard anything good or bad for the guys at Tee to Green or the new Golf Galaxy on Hwy 55 in Cary?

I've heard great things about Tee to Green for fittings but I am not very into the lesson loop. :) I would guess they would be a good place to try. The new GG is very nice. I was fitted for my Edel putter there. Again, not sure about lessons... Joel came from a club In the northeast and was head pro there. I went for a driver fitting as I did not own one and the first few swings were no better than my 4w, about 250 with a low ball flight. After fifteen minutes I hit it 290+. He was actually kinda pissed as it was his driver and he couldn't get that ball speed with it :) So he sold me the shaft hah. I told him he could probably ai beat me by 15 strokes so not to fret. He knows his stuff. I agree it is not usually busy but he does a lot for local op high school kids, for your pros, he does David Orr down at Campbell. When I was there the phone rang about every ten minutes. I think he just doesn't get a lot of drop ins like a GG or GS would get but the folks who know go there. Can't recommend him highly enough.
