Lie Angle?

I am 6"2' with a wrist to floor measurement of 35".

My irons are Ping G25, +.25, Black Dot

Okay here is the dumb question.

When I am addressing the ball the toe of the club is about a quarter inch or so off the ground.  Should the club head lie flat?

First of all, w-t-f is not information you use to cut metal on.

As per the GolfWorks trainers, at best, it is a starting point fitters can use to estimate what shaft length you might need. From there, you need a dynamic fitting to tell it shaft length and lie angle are correct for you.

First of all w-t-f does not take into account toe-down. This the amount your shaft bows downward at point of impact.

The Mizuno shaft optimizer actually charts toe down as one of its five "swing DNA" data points when checking golfers for optimum shafts.

In your case, you could have a fitter put some sole tape on your irons and let you hit three shots or so off an impact board. The board leaves leaves a scuff mark on the tape in the area of your impact. This impact captures the physical residue of toe down, but does not give you a toe-down number.

For a full lie fitting, hit three or four shots with each iron. At very least, hit every other iron.

Note: the above diagrams show the concept of lie board rubs. The rub marks are averaged out, and rarely are a uniform rub line. Actual sole tape has scored measurements to estimate how many degrees flat or upright you might need.

When you purchased your Pings didn't they do a club fitting?? When I purchased my Pings, and even my new Callaway XRs, they had me hit on a strike board to gauge the lie angle. They can bend it up or down to so it impact flat.

To answer you question, at address the tow can be a "little" up in the air, the real question is what is the lie when you are swinging the club, it should impact the ground (or a strike board) flat.
