My swing speed was formerly 95-100. It is now down to 85-90. I recently went for a fitting and was fit for a Paderson KG70-D20 shaft in a Titleist TS3 head for a mere $900. I declined that offer. I have at home a Ping G 9 degree, a TM M1 10.5 degree,  and a TM M4D 10.5 degree but all with stiff shafts which I believe I need to change. Any suggestions for shafts to go with my current drivers which might get me close to the fitting without a huge cash outlay? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hello and welcome to TST. So you were measured with a SS of 85-90 and the fitter put you in a Paderson KG-70-D20? Can't say I understand that at all. May I ask where you were fitted? Did they have you swing any shafts that were more reasonably priced? I believe those shafts are based around $250? That's ridiculous imo. So are your existing shafts too stiff you believe? I mean probably the best bet would be to go to another fitter with those drivers and just tell them you're wanting to optimize your driver but aren't looking to blow 2 bills on a shaft. However, how do you like your current shafts? If for example your shaft in one of your drives is a 'stiff' you could just get the 'regular' and see how that performs.

Sorry my answer kind of sucks but I'm still trying to get over that a fitter put you into Paderson shaft at all with a SS of 85-90. We have some shaft gurus on this site and hopefully they'll chime in.

@Typhoon92 can you chime in?

I don't know a lot about Paderson shafts.  There's not much info out there either on them.  A couple years ago when i was fit I inquired about Paderson and my fitter, who is a dealer said, " there's better less expensive choices out there".

Vinsk and I know nothing about your swing and like he said, what shafts were u playing in stiff?  Maybe regular would work.

The paderson they put u in is nothing special, mid kick shaft 65 grams.  Mid trajectory.  It sounds like it's butt stiff. I'd go on golfworks I think and look at the new grafalloy Blue which are inexpensive.  Also Fujikura Pro 53 in regular flex could be ideal.  Also don't discount something like an "A" flex if you have a smooth non aggressive transition.  Check out the fujikura fuel as well.

Sounds like a Club Champion or True Spec golf experience to me $$$

Also, u might want to look in a bit of a different direction....Ping g400 max 10.5 with the stock Alta shaft.  With your clubhead speed it might be a good idea to not look at a low spinning head.  The g400max/stock shaft is $399....maybe less if u trade in the other drivers.

The stock shaft I hear is made by UST and is very good...gets rave reviews as far as stock shafts go. I've hit it myself and like it too.  Weight range would be sub 60 grams which would be good for u.

Best of luck!
