Greetings,

We’re anticipating buying a house in the Treasure Coast area of Florida (Jupiter, Stuart) and would like to find a public or private golf course membership that won’t break the bank.

It seems that most courses have very heavy equity commitments between $25k and $175k.

Is there anything available for the working man / non-millionaire lifestyle segment?

We used to have a Club Corp Membership at a private club in WA state that, while expensive, was a good overall value and didn’t require a second mortgage or liquidating my retirement fund to sign up.

Prefer a course with range and practice facilities. Less concerned with restaurant and amenities, although that’s welcome.

Thanks for your help.

Chris

I’m not familiar enough with that area to help, but have you looked to see if there are any Club Corp properties down there?

I lived at PGA Village for 8 years. They have a myriad of membership types. It's a half hour from area noted. The Fox Club is actively seeking members in Palm City. Go play it see if it fits. There are many decent public courses in the general area. A great deal for the summer is the SFPGA membership. Most of the private courses members exit the area and they allow play for nominal fees.

Did play it last year for the first time and it is awesome.

    • I think you're saying it's preposterous to think that the areas on this club are anything like what's shown here: 30mm toward the toe or heel loses only 5% distance? Highly, highly doubtful. So a guy who hits the ball there and normally hits the ball about 250… will hit it instead about 238. By missing the sweet spot by about 1.2 inches? Highly, highly doubtful. Heck, the high heel barely gets into the red, and orange is only "up to" 10%! @M2R, I've never heard of "Ask Golf Nut" but I'm dubious of his claims in the video and really, really dubious of what's on his site: "Why AskGolfNut Is the Most Trusted Data-Driven Golf Resource". Hmmmmmm.
