Thanks @boogielicious - you are correct. I misspoke. What I meant to say is that it sets the lower limit of backspin at 1000. It does not allow a lower backspin rate or the spin produced by a strike as described by @iacas in the other thread on this issue. There is also no way (with this tool) to produce the "knuckle ball" effect described earlier in this thread (although I recognize that this is golf not baseball).


It's been my experience that a knuckle ball will tend to fly flatter and much farther than a well struck shot. From the OP's original explanation it seems like too much spin and possibly wind are major factors here...
