I am new to the scene here in Carson and Reno I am from the Bay Area in California I enjoy often a lot of the beautiful costal golf spots there,  few buddies of mine have brought me to a few nice gold grounds out here. I wanted to know most personally recommend golf grounds here in Northern Nevada.

Seeking to find spots, I’m no professional but I enjoy golfing for the fun and the atmosphere of it.

Shared some pictures of fun times in Pebble Beach beautiful weather love it there I go often.

What kind of info are you interested in?

I live in Kings beach (Tahoe) and play all around the area. Mostly play Reno when the courses up here close in late October and snow starts flying.

Some great courses up here in North Lake but pretty $$$ since it's a tourist area. Old greenwood, greys crossing, coyote moon, Tahoe donner, northstar, old brockway, and incline village championship are the best.

Plumas county has the best courses around for the $$. Whitehawk ranch, grizzly ranch, plumas pines, the dragon, and Graeagle meadows are all worth playing

Reno has 3 munis owned by the city. Sierra sage, Wildcreek, and washoe. Personally I like Sierra sage best for winter golf since it's only $15 to walk all you can play twilight. I would take Wildcreek over washoe

Red hawk is my go to for mid-tier. 2 different courses with reasonable fees ($39 twilight) and some cool views from the hills course. Other mid-tier in the area are wolf run, lakeridge, toyiobe, and Dayton valley.

Never played Genoa lakes but it's supposed to be nice and has 2 different courses right at the base of the mountains below heavenly ski resort.

In south lake Edgewood is the creme de la creme of local courses but will run you $$$$. Lake Tahoe muni in south lake is a fun course with cool views but would stay away on weekends since it gets a ton of play

    • It may not have been block practice, though, is one of the main points here. You may have been serving and from the same place, but you were likely trying to do slightly different things. It seems that would only be blocked practice if you were trying to hit the same exact ball hit to you to the same exact place in the far court. I'm not sure that's as random as if the ball that you're given to hit is at different places, too, but again…
    • I played tennis in college. I thought block practice was great for serves because you were starting the point and  you could easily adjust where you wanted to place the ball based off the same motion. I equate those to tee balls. I despised block practice for groundstrokes once you reached a certain level and your fundamentals were good. To me, hitting a 100 crosscourt backhands in a row was silly because I would never do that in a match. I needed to randomize it by hitting some deep, some angled, all with different speeds and spins. I share that same thought about iron play. Because we seldom hit the same approach shots hole after hole, I prefer to practice irons randomly.
