I'm just curious, does your Scotty has insert in it? Got pics? or link to a website?

Yes it does have an insert. GSS (German Stainless Steel).

Hey Wisco, if you had the choice, money no object, would you have gone for the Redwood. I bought one about 3-4 weeks ago (picked it up second hand in my pro shop for £120) and love it, but never tried a Scotty.

Get a Scotty Cameron and stay with it. The are the best putters made. If you are putting bad its not the putter its you.

I used to own a 2007 Scotty Cameron Circa 62#1 but now I'm settled with a Ping Redwood Anser. I almost bought SC Newport (similar style with Anser) but to me SC putter head is smaller compare to Anser Redwood. I prefer a slightly bigger head at address. SC is a beautiful putter.

Well I was looking for love and I finally found it. I brought a couple of my old putters into Golf Galaxy yesterday to trade them in. I had intentions of buying a new Ping B60 Karsten or a Yes Callie. As I am rolling a few balls with each and trying to decide the sales guy said I should try a ping redwood. I tried it and loved it! But alas it was out of my price range. Then he hands me a brand new Scotty Studio Newport 2 that someone had just brought in an hour before. He had never played it and it sat in his basement. The sticker on it said $179 which was a great deal. With my trade in's I walked out with a brand new Scotty Newport for $140 bucks. Unbelievable. The Scotty is so well balanced and the ball feels so good of the face. I finally know now what all the hype is about! Thanks for all your suggestions and I still can't believe I have a Scotty for that price. WOW!

Wisco, congrats man! I was going to suggest that you really look into purchasing a scotty before I found out that you already did because it seems as though you spent that much money for the total of your other 5 putters. I'm "borrowing" my dad's Scotty and have to admit, it hasn't helped lessen my score. Having said that, my previous putter was a carbite. There's really no comparison. The scotty has a better feel and gives me more control. I'm just not any good at reading my lines, that's all. Again, congratulations and good luck with the new putter...

Hmmm good question. I really liked the Redwood but I did like the Scotty better. As soon as I picked it up I could tell that the face balance on the Scotty was like no other putter. It fits my stroke perfectly.

Thanks illmadden! You hear all this "hype" about Scotty's but until you try one you have no idea how brillant they are. I cant read lines very well either and I just read something that may help. I just found out that I am a left eye dominant - right handed golfer. So I was trying to see my putting line with the wrong eye and it was throwing my line off. You should check and see which eye is your dominant eye and make sure you focus on your line with that eye.

you can actually get scottys on ebay for about 110$ i bought one for 80$ once but it wasnt helping my game so i sold it
