I am looking for "the putter". You know the one putter that I can keep in my bag for at least a full season without wondering is there something better out there? I currently have 5 putters and everytime I bought one I thought this is the one. The closest I have come is my ping stainless steel b60. I do like this putter even though it needs to be set up better for me. I am looking for a blade style. I am not going to shell out the bucks for a Scotty. What is the next closest thing to a Scotty? Bettinardi? I like the Hogan Bettinardi C series but have trouble finding them on ebay for less the $150 I am now looking at the Bobby Grace Macgregor M2. I can get that for like $40 on ebay...
Thoughts comments....?

No i have not tried a SeeMore. Doesn't Zach Johnson use a SeeMore?
I have not seen anywhere selling the SeeMore or I certainly would try it...

yeah Zack Johnson/Vaughan Taylor and of course the late Payne Stewart.

Payne Stewart and Zack Johnson had 2 of the greatest putting rounds to win majors with a Seemore.

I've seen Raphael Jacquelin using one on the European Tour this season and there are a few in Padraig Harringtons collection at home.

Anyway - they're cheap, they're different and they work! Takes a while to get used to having your hands behind the ball and hitting a good strike with it - the sound and feel can seem a little "dead" with a softer ball but who cares when you pop it in from 6 feet with your eyes closed.

I have a Scotty Cameron and a Taylormade Imola but the Seemore is staying in my bag. Cost me $70 plus shipping and import tax to Ireland from www.tgw.com . There are more expensive models but you're talking Scotty Cameron money for them. People keep coming up to me on the practice green and "having a go" - you can't get them on this island! Not everyone is impressed but putting is an art. It won't be for everyone.

I was so impressed with the look and feel of Odyssey's XG 7 that I replaced the putter I'd had in my bag for the previous 12 years. I also got my head pro and three members at my club to switch to the XG 7.

Hawkeye I appreciate your input. And considering that you have a Scotty and you still keep your SeeMore in your bag is enough to warrant some serious interest on my part!
Thanks

two words: scotty cameron. Sure they cost a lot of money, but get one in a classic shape that you like and with the feel you like, and no matter what happens it will not be 'outdated.' even though I play one of the newer ones, I would be happy playing one of his first ones out 15+ years ago, I'm sure.

Isn't the 'classic shape' similar to the Ping Anser series? If just going for shape...then go with the Anser for $89.

There isn't "The One Putter to Rule Them All". Get the putter that you feel the most comfortable with. You won't putt well if you don't like the putter. It's a mental thing. If you like the "Classic" style try the new Ping Karsten style. $89 and you can get them custom fitted to your specs for no extra charge.

I had no idea that a Ping Anser was that inexpensive. That is a perfect price point for me. I do love the anser style. If they will custom fit to my specs that is even better. I am going to try to roll a couple at golf galaxy.

Well I was looking for love and I finally found it. I brought a couple of my old putters into Golf Galaxy yesterday to trade them in. I had intentions of buying a new Ping B60 Karsten or a Yes Callie. As I am rolling a few balls with each and trying to decide the sales guy said I should try a ping redwood. I tried it and loved it! But alas it was out of my price range. Then he hands me a brand new Scotty Studio Newport 2 that someone had just brought in an hour before. He had never played it and it sat in his basement. The sticker on it said $179 which was a great deal. With my trade in's I walked out with a brand new Scotty Newport for $140 bucks. Unbelievable. The Scotty is so well balanced and the ball feels so good of the face. I finally know now what all the hype is about! Thanks for all your suggestions and I still can't believe I have a Scotty for that price. WOW!

    • Day 48. Got out at lunch to the range to hit some driver shots. Haven’t had much practice there. Focused on setup suggested by @iacas and found some very playable results. I did try to hit a couple of bunker shots after that with much less success 🙃
    • Got a rare birdie on #18 Par 5.  Drive was good and left me in range of the green.  I was @ 210 from the center and needed @ 180 to clear a hazard area.  Green had bunkers lest, right and on back. had been struggling and most shots were short so I took the 225 club figuring back of green hit well. i did hit it well, @ 229 per SS and dead on—kind at the pin.  Ended up @ 1 foot off the back in short rough and lucky for me it was a back pin placement.  Chipped about 15 feet leaving a 3 feet putt for par which I sunk.
    • Yea, so to clarify for me. I do not feel the clubface much in the swing. I feel the weight of the club. I can feel if I hit the club off the heel or toe. When I try to feel if the clubface is open or closed in the swing, I feel it more with my hands, and less of the clubhead. I would classify majority of my swings as not feeling like the clubface does much of all. It feels like I hold the clubface open. In the finish, it doesn't feel like my left hand faces the ground. It feels more like it faces the sky. I will try to be more aware of this, but it was just the sensation I got when I was making what felt like good swings. For the most part, I was hitting slight draws or slight pushes.  On this golf trip, I had to hit a low 8 iron around a tree to the green. I made an alignment adjustment, and actively try to roll my hands a bit more to get it to sling around the corner. I do have a habit of not adjusting how the clubface comes through impact, and I can still hit the ball straight-ish even moving the ball way back in my stance and trying to swing out more.  Yea, my feels are more hands and arms, less actually feeling the clubface.
