The Mrs and I go Biker week 5/13 and have found over the years that Bikers do not play golf and the courses are wide open so we play 36 every day. This year it is

Problem is that if you want to go out to eat during Harley Davidson biker week it will take forever of waiting in line since the entire town is packed. I used to go back home to NY for vacation on biker week. But if you don't have a problem with eating in then yeah, biker week is a pretty good time to go to Myrtle.

Legends is great. I used to practically live on their practice range. Especially during the hot summer where they have portable roofs so you can hit on grass, but in the shade. I'd avoid Pawley's. It's got some tour like holes, but there's some crap there. People go gah gah with the narrow tees in the marsh area, but I think it's hokey and there's one short par 3 that's just garbage. Used to play Belle Terre all the time for practice on the golf team. I'm probably the only person alive that gave it semi-favorable reviews, although a lot of the holes are too similar and the starting first three holes are extremely hard.

Thanks, some good advice there. I like the look and feel of Pawley's I would return there once I've got most of the top tier courses covered. That short par 3, along with that tee box, is very hokey indeed, not something I would really go for.

    • I think we just need @StuM, @vasaribm, and @CarlSpackler to let us know what tees they'd like to play. And if anyone knows anyone for @David L Yskes's spot… still open.

    • I will say, I typed all that out and it’s not what I end up doing most of the time. Easy to journal it out then it is putting it into practice. 🤣 So, I am going to try this out for a while.  After every shot, say or think, “Onto the next challenge”. That is the phrase that will transition from the previous shot to the next one. Then, we will see what the score ends up at the end. Don’t look up till it’s over.
    • I deal with these outside things the same way I deal with my own "failures", like slices of duffs or missed short putts.  The same way I deal with idiots on the highway.  The same way I dealt with foolish clients.  Its no differrent from handling anything in life that doesn't go as planned.  I try to give my irritation a moment to be in my conciousness, to acknowledge it, and then to mentally push it to the "resolved" part of my brain.  Focus on the one thing you CAN control in the moment, the one and only golf shot you have in front of you.  All of that other stuff is "chatter", background noise, none of it really matters, you can't change it because its in the past.  Exactly HOW I manage to do that, I'm not sure, perhaps decades of experience, and I still let things get to me at times, but that's my goal.
