. . .Four of us at work are planning a 4 day weekend at Atlantic City some time this summer. I've already looked at a brochure of available courses and they look great! Any recommendations out there?

Thanks!

Mike

Hey B-17,

Played up in AC a few times.

For an old style parkland Donald Ross course, Seaview is probably your best bet for a "golden age" style course.

For a more modern course, try Sand Barrens and Twisted Dune. Both are great courses.

Tom Doak renovated the William Flynn-designed Atlantic City Country Club, but the slope suggests it will be about as challenging as Seaview (Twisted Dune is a real bear).

Anyway good luck and let me know if you play around CP and the area. I'll be looking to check out Lake Presidential when it opens in about two months...

. . .Thanks for the get back! It looks like no matter what courses we choose, we will not be disappointed. What could be better. . .golf during the day, a long 19th hole, and playing black jack at night!!

Go Terps!! Gotta win tonight to have any chance at the Big Dance!

Onlything better is adding a steak at the Old Homestead in the Borgata. My wife plays (and sports a 19 handicap). Each year for our anniversary its golf down by AC (I echo the comments above on Seaview and Twisted Dune), a couple of cold ones after the round, Porterhouse for two at the Old Homestead and then some blackjack. Life is good...

we're doing a group of 8 to 12 down there in mid-may. i have a summer trailer outside sea isle city and go down almost every weekend during the summer. despite being down there constantly, we've never actually hit many of the nicer courses. our 4 rounds are at mays landing, sand barrens, twisted dune, and shore gate. where to play depends on what you want to spend, and don't shy away from courses further south, most of them are moderately priced, but you get what you pay for down there.

    • Day 242 4-19 correct hip/chest movement in backswing. Less hip turn more chest turn. Did a bit of wrist arch stuff as well.
    • Day 42 (19 Apr 26) - Spent a bit of time working on maxing torso rotation…hit a few pitches to help reinforce.
    • Thanks - that was a total surprise…

    • First round at Quail Ridge: 47 + 47 = 94 *Note: It was 25+ mph winds with gust in the 35+ mph. It was also around 58 degrees. I felt like I was out in Oregon. The greens were very firm.  Driver was decent. It didn't cause me an issues.  Irons were the biggest issue. Just low point control was lacking. Mostly on the chunky side. Also, my irons were routinely 20-30 yards shorter than normal. Even on holes with a cross wind, the ball was just dying. We played an extra 9 holes after the first 18, and the wind died down by then. I stepped into a 9 iron, and it came up 15 yards short. I have no clue what is going on. I should not be hitting 9 irons 140 yards when I am hitting my driver 300 to 310 yards.  Warmup didn't give me much confidence. I just kept shanking every other iron shot. I didn't shank an iron during the round. I just felt all out of sorts today. Coordinate felt off.  yea, I have no idea if I am purposely slowing down my swing to feel my downswing piece. Again, I hit a decent 9 iron and lost 15 yards of carry. I hope this is just an off day.
