Yes thats true--I think internationally-Mizuno is considered an elite company. Look at Luke Donald and company. Mizuno has a lot of european tour counterparts

"People think the size of the head is most important. Wrong. It's getting a quality shaft. test different shafts to see which goes the straightest. Also, more degrees of loft on the head is better than less. Eleven degrees is about right."

They are HUGE amongst players in Europe and Asia, since Faldo was using them in the 90's they have had an amazing rep. Both game improvment and better forged clubs, a fair few I play with only use Mizuno clubs. Everything bar putter usually.

Personally, I would not call Nike a Major Golf Brand. Yes, I know Tiger uses Nike. However, his irons are not made by Nike. They are Miura handmade forged irons with the Nike Logo.

First of all, no one in the top 20 (give or take) irons are made by Taylormade/Nike/Callaway they are all using hand forged clubs by Miura, Endo etc etc which simply imitate/look like the brand name clubs therefore not really a valid point.

Furthermore I have a golfing buddy who hates Callaway drivers, does this make them a mid major golf brand? nope, what one or two individual players think of Nike products will not effect the success or marketability of a product, another invalid point. I would like to ask, on what basis is your assumption made that the quality of Nike products is any worse than that of Taylormade, Callaway, Titleist etc, is this just personal opinion or can you back it up? If your going to argue a major brand such as Nike is actually inferior to other brands, back it up with fact not opinion.

I have heard this argument over and over again, from both sides, and I gotta say I don't believe Tiger plays Miuras.

Also, I would put Mizuno in the elite, not the mid-majors. Out of the list, I would have to go with MacGregor or Nickent for the best of that list. MacGregor for the simple fact of their new line of irons. They are sure to get some tour recognition this year. Nickent, because they are growing more and more each day.

I guess you just wanted to argue the point. First, as I stated, Tiger's blades are not made by Nike. For the vast majority of the golfing public that does not take a deep interest in the maker of a product, the assumption is that Nike is producing these irons. Therefore, it becomes "Nike made great irons. They make Tiger's." This is simply not true.

You state that the opinion of golfers won't affect the success or marketability of their products. That's right. Nike, like any other major corporation, will just throw money at the problem. They won't necessarily fix it. How much of Nike's sales would dip if Tiger came out and said "Muira makes my clubs. Nike just puts their logo on it?" Lastly, read my post. I said from "personal experience." The clubs that I tried were inferior to the ones I purchased. Nike irons not as good as Mizuno. Their driver was not as easy on the eyes or ears as my Titleist. Their putter is not as good as the Odyssey, Ping or Scotty Cameron. Do they make great shoes? Absolutely. Do they make nice clothes? Sure do. Is their golfing equipment, again, from personal experience and reaction from friends, something I consider top end? No.

    • +12 47, and never lost a ball or had a penalty. Got the snap hooks off the tee for the first 3 holes. So, playing the punch out game. Probably had like 20 putts. Bad short game day. The greens were weirdly firm but slow. I just don’t get spin out of the rough. I had a SW, with good height hit middle half of the green and end up almost off the back of the green. I know what I was doing with the full swing. Bad habits creeping in.
    • 9 years and counting. Lil chipped paint here and there but still going strong. Also have an 18 deg driving iron that I got a couple of years ago which is doing well too. @iacastried it and I think he liked it.
    • For PING to assemble and ship it? It's a 3H. Yea, the new club has more loft. How do you like that, 2H?
    • Then go on gitchu a brand spanking new 2H son.. what are you waiting for?
    • I may not always hit a good shot but I always make sure the pre-shot routine is done.
