Getting paired up with people who do not know ANY golf etiquette

Usually i never have this problem, but sometimes to be Polite Ill drop hints to them so they get the point.

I usually go a little further. I'll tell them I have a lot of idiosyncrasies and ask them to accommodate them. I have really weird conditions like: Don't stand 10 feet behind me on the tee, don't stand 2 feet behind the hole when I'm putting, and try to be quiet while I'm playing.

I figure if you have to be out there with them, and they're ignorant, I don't want to piss them off.

You could drop hints by constantly asking the person/people etiquette related questions.

This is excellent, diplomatic advice. You'll always catch more flies with honey than with vinegar...isn't that how that saying goes?

Id say let em know what theyre doing wrong. when i first started i played with 3 other guys and none of us knew the rules. So when i went without them the first time and got paired up i looked like an A$$. I just didnt know any better. So now i make it a point to at least let someone know that theyre doing something wrong. If they dont fix it thats theyre fault, but at least they know.

I'll be honest: I'm a beginner, and I'm probably the one at fault with some of these situations.

However, I tell people right up front as we are getting the cart, "I'm a beginner. I don't know all the protocol's, so if I make a mistake just let me know. Thanks."

I find by letting people know right off the bat, that they are willing to help me learn. I've gotten tons of friendly advice along the way doing that, too. To me, its just common courtesy.
