Hi all

I’m a little bit embarrassed to ask this question as it’s something I should know really!

I’ve been a member at my club now for nearly 18 months but have never had the desire to join or play in comps in the main due to not having an official handicap.  This May now be changing however I haven’t found many of the members at all welcoming and the club is extremely clicky.

I suppose I have a couple of general questions, easier to ask on a forum for me than in person.

1 - when I became a member will I have been allocated a CDH number with being affiliated with a recognised club despite not having an official handicap?

2 - What is the generally approved procedure for entering comps?  Is it a complete no no until I somehow get a valid handicap or am I ok to enter myself into an available slot (club uses the BRS system for bookings)?

3 - if I manage to get into a comp what is the procedure regarding scorecards and marking of scorecards?

I do suffer quite a bit with social anxiety, it’s getting better, but I like to know stuff before asking in person and making a fool of myself.

Thanks in advance!

    • I've been putting whilst looking at the hole and it's definitely helped my distance control
    • I wonder if that is why my home course basically have no stakes now.  Not even markers.  It’s completely up to golfers to remember what is OB and hazard and how things used to be marked.     Even in tournaments, there is no marking and certain areas are played differently by different golfers who either don’t know better or use it to their advantage funny reading thru this with courses that actually have markers
    • is it though?????? "Millions of fans"?????
    • Great post, thanks for the informaiton. I try to avoid adding salt to anything I eat. I tend to add pepper on to my meals as opposed to salt. And I am trying to eat as clean on possible. On golf day, I eat 3 eggs for breakfast (pepper NO salt) and a salad for lunch, with grilled chicken thigs (pepper, garlic, no salt). I have been trying to avoid processed food, but we all slip. I also should have mentioned that the electrolyte packet calls for mixing with 16 oz of water, however I mix in 32 oz of water, so I dilute the electrolyte powder.
    • So if I read the news correctly, the PIF will not fund LIV after this season.  LIV is trying to find new funding and a number of players there are now asking about getting back to the Tour.    I am very, very concerned that Taylor Gooch will not have a place where he can make a jackass out of himself soon
