I've been playing classical piano since I was 4. I'm 16 in a couple of days. My piano teacher mentioned some extremely expensive pianos today. Just wondering, what are the expensive brands out there? Obviously Steinway , I also found Bosendorfer and Fazioli have extremely expensive pianos. The university my dad works at is building a performing arts center with a $200k, 10ft Fazioli. Hope I get to play there for fun... Feel free to discuss other things about piano too. I just wanted to see who else here played.

I don't play myself, but my wife teaches piano. We bought a baby grand piano a few years ago. I believe it's a Steinway. It sure looks great sitting in our living room. It was used once at some event where they had a lot of pianos, and we wound up buying it at a great price. It did help that my wife had done a lot of business with the local music store that carried the piano.
In my bag:

Driver: FT-5, 9° stiff
Wood: Big Bertha 3W/5W
Irons: X-20 TourWedges: X Tour 52°/56°Hybrids: Idea Pro 2/3/4Putter: Black Series #2Ball: NXT Extreme/NXT Tour

I wish I had a Steinway. I'm probably going to go to Steinway Hall to play on their pianos for fun.

Expensive is not always the best, but you hit on most of them. There's also Bechstein and Mason & Hamlin.

I've played all different sizes made by Steinway, M&H;, Bechstein and Fazioli. I work very close to piano row in NY, so I stop in during lunch and I have friends who have good pianos. It really depends on what kind of sound and what you as a pianist prefer in the action, feel, etc...

I have an 5'6" M&H; grand and am looking to get something bigger in the 6 foot range - not sure about the make - I'll know it when I hear it.

My wife and I are polar opposites.
She is 12 years classically trained and cannot play a note without the sheet music.
I can play for hours but I can't read music at all.

We wrote/recorded our own wedding music.

I had some friends buy a church in downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma.
In this church was a 13 foot grand piano that was placed in the church while it was being built and could not be removed because of it's size so it was sold with the church.

From what I understand, you cannot buy a 13 foot grand anymore.
It was a real treat to knock around on that thing for the few minutes they let me.

On my tombstone: "If this is the worst thing that ever happens to me, I'm doing just fine!"
