2-Man League Play - Partners Seem to Complement Each Other

My Father and I have signed up for the Thursday 9 hole best ball league play this year.  They didn't do it last year.  I used to be a 6 cap (but have not played much in a while, so I'm sitting at 8).  My father is a 21 cap.  The cool thing is, I have been able to play golf with my dad a bit during this league, and we seem to compliment each other's play very well!

There were nights where I would shoot a net 45 and my dad would shoot a net 35.  Other nights, I would shoot well and he would struggle.  The weird thing is, we always seem to off-set each other (whether it be on one hole or the entire round).  I once shot a gross par 36 and won low gross for that week.  That was fun!  My dad has won low net a few times.  My dad swears that he plays better when he is playing in the league.

My dad and I have been in the playoffs the 4 previous times we were in the league.  We won it twice came in second once.  

It seems to me that a high handicap and a fairly lower handicap are the perfect combination for a net league play.
