I’ve had several lessons in person and even a few online where the instructor was trying to get me to rotate my hips more.  I would be told to feel pressure on my left foot into the ground etc. I’ve also had issues with my head moving forward causing over the top and shanks.  So when I’ve been told to shift my weight like this, I would be prone to move my head forward and hitting shanks.  Most recently I’m shanking again and hitting it all over the face, hitting it fat etc, but my head is staying back.  I notice when I shift my weight it’s going out to the toe, which is putting the heel closer to the ball.

Now my question.  I found that if I take a half swing and pause, keeping my shoulders closed, then feel like I let my weight go on my left heel, with nothing else moving, I hit it solid and in the center.  However doing this move, my head still goes forward some but not so much it’s opening up my upper body causing over the top. Is this wrong?  My thought process was if it goes forward some it’s fine as long as I’m not putting the heel of the club closer to the ball.

I read iacas’s thread on the hips continually shifting to the target albeit with rotation. In those examples, it looks like their heads aren’t moving much forward

Hello! To really get solid advice I’d recommend you start a swing thread in the ‘Members Swings’ topic. We all know feel ain’t real with golf so it’s essentially we can see what you’re doing as well as what you think you’re doing. Cheers.

I have one.  I guess I’ll have to post a video there.

    • I  had to return to boast  just a  bit. Everyone  knows  i thought  this  is  how the Championship should  be decided. Match play is far  better than stroke  play to determine a  champion and  its  much closer to most sports  playoffs. Lose and you are  out.     Promotion, relegation and match play: PGA Tour unveils radical new structure The PGA Tour has revealed its planned changes to its competitive model, schedule and playoffs, changes that will be more substantial than any in the Tour's half-century-long history. How will the PGA Tour series wrap up its season? The current PGA Tour playoff format consists of three stroke-play events, concluding with the Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta. Starting in 2028, the Tour's playoff system will feature match play, and will rotate through various courses. Further details will be revealed at this year's Tour Championship next month.
    • Posted a couple swings here. I think my attempt to blend the movement still results in a more “around” back swing?
    • I never heard dislike for them.  From my perspective, they are just like any other club. Though, they were always probably over-priced, until recently as other club manufacturers have been raising prices the past 5+ years. You had to wait for them to go on sale, which you can get them closer to other club manufacturers.  They sell good clubs. Nothing crazy..
    • Why do so many people dislike PXG clubs and constantly criticize them? All the folks at my club and especially online, I never hear good things about them except from people who bought them and defend them. They look fine to me but curious is there some sort of quality issue or is it just stereotyping the buyers.
    • I have the LM1 launch monitor and I’ve been very impressed. I agree with your assessment and it’s very accurate for me and ease of use is wonderful. The price point of $199 is very hard to beat with this form factor and performance. I was previously using a PRGR.
