I'm kinda bored here so I just thought I'd share my home course statistics. These are based on my last 9 rounds of the year last year. Feel free to share yours! WHOA! Look at that horrible GIR Stat.

% Fairways Hit: 44%
GIR %: 37%
Succsessful Save %: 36%
Succsessful Sand Save %: 36%
Avg Puts (Per Hole/Per GIR/Per Round): 1.74/1.83/31.25

Total Pars: 62
Total Birdies: 13
Total Bogies: 60
Double Bogies: 7

Good thing I have Pars over bogies (but barely)

Par 3 Avg: 3.25

Par 5 Avg: 4.91
Avg. Score: 75.56

Thanks Murdock!!!! I was just thinking how nice it would be to see someone's stats who was a lower handicap that me, but not, say +5 or something. That is very helpful to me.

Thanks G-funk also, you also helped me to compare to see If i was around the right range of GIR, fairways and Putts per round for my handicap.

little bit off topic but
i did some number crunching and realized it wasn't hard to get to 18 handicap
i setup some goal for myself:
2 GIR per round (since my ball striking sucks)
16 Pitches/Chips
3 Putts per GIR
2 Putts per Missed GIR

seems easy enough?
my downfall is taking more than one pitch/chip when i miss green and not getting the ball close enough for 1 or 2 putts.

i'd like to see some stats from high teen handicappers

Hey Dent, how long have you kept your HDCP? I started Last year, and started using Scorecard this January. I was REALLY surprised that mine was below 10, because on average (as you see) I shoot 82-84. I thought it was more like my anti-handicap, which is 13.1

I am glad though- but sometimes I am embarrassed to say that my handicap is 7, like I gotta shoot a 79 all the time ( which I don't).

WOW! You just sumed up exactly what I feel. Ive been tracking mine for 3 years. Since i was 13. And it started at a 12. I usually avg an 80-81. And i'm also emberassed to say im an 8.1. I feel I'm always shooting over my handicap. I also dont like to post those stats because It seems like mine should be better for what my handicap says.

Yeah, well I am 32, on my second marriage with two kids and I am still embarrassed. I guess I don't talk about hdcps with people a lot. Maybe EVERYONE is either avoiding it, or SANDBAGGING! Just out of curiosity, what are your goals for this year?

Mine are

10 rounds <30 PPR
Less than 2.0 PPGIR Average for year.
NEVER 3 PUTT
GIR:
50% avg.
FWY:
50% avg.

I'm getting a membership at a different course this year which is slightly easier so I'd have to say..Maintain my 30 PPR
Get to a 5-6 HDCP
GIR Over 45%

I may not get the handicap one, but my GIR will improve.

Those goals you have there are some really interesting and realistic goals. You cover basically each catagory of golf. Putting, Approach, Driving.

I believe your handicap is supposed to be around 80% of your average score. So if you shoot 82 (10 over) on average, then you would carry about and 8 handicap. Correct me if i'm wrong, I just swear I remember hearing that before. Hope that helps you guys out, or at least helps your bruised egos... Ha

Man itll be 2009 before all this snow goes away. I should be golfing in another 3 weeks. But right now we are having a hail storm

You can click on my scorecard button below to see some of my stats but they haven't been real good lately.

When it comes to handicaps, keep in mind, it's based on potential and not average. You probably shouldn't shoot to your handicap most of the time. If you did you handicap would keep going down.

I've heard the same thing from better golfers than me, you shouldn't be able to shoot your actual hcap a majority of the time.

that actually makes me feel alot better. I really never knew that. I always thought I should be shooting up to my handicap.

What im amazed at though is how much of a difference each stroke means. like an 80 for me is a 9.9 HDCP and a 79 is a 9.0 and then a 77 is a 7.1
