Got rid of my Titleist woods and converted to Ping G10. Now I see what the buzz was about with the G10 woods...

Now, can anyone recommend good choices of shafts that I can fit these new babies with?

Driver: 70 - 76 gram range.
Fairway woods: 80 - 83 gram range.

Thanks.

Have you ever tried the ALDILA ONE--they might be the perfect shafts for you...They are pretty cheap on ebay as well

"People think the size of the head is most important. Wrong. It's getting a quality shaft. test different shafts to see which goes the straightest. Also, more degrees of loft on the head is better than less. Eleven degrees is about right."

Glad that's working out.

Since I started playing Pings, I have never felt I wanted to make any changes to them. I think they know what they are doing.

Yup, everything is working out fine. Just needed to increase the swing weight a bit since I am used to playing with heavier feel shafts. But other than that, I have gained distance and accuracy.

You might have said it out of sacarsm but yes I am actually planning to goto Q-School in Australia. Not in the majors but maybe start with Asian tour first... As for a job, I am a business owner so no worries about that part... I am currently practicing with some local pros 4-5 times a week.

I used 907D2, 906F2 and 585H. I liked them but while discussing about golf clubs with some of the local pros, they mentioned that being traditional (meaning no fancy colors, thick cavity, tech, inserts etc) for irons and wedges is preferable since distance is not the main issue when playing irons.

However, they mentioned that to get some extra edge, they didn't mind having some tech into their woods. They said Titleist was solid woods but preferred something with more zing and they talked about Ping G10s, Callaway FT5 Tour and Burner TP. They all play under par/scratch just FYI. I don't think everyone would agree to what they said but it made sense to me and I decided to try out their clubs. Out of those, I really liked the G10 series and that is how I came about changing my whole woods. Really gained distance compared to my old Titleist woods and more forgiving too.

So would you say that the Titleist D1 is less distance and less forgiveness than the G10, Burner TP, Callaway Ft-5? (if you have tried one).
When I hit the 906.F4, I found it the longest and most forgiving I tried. But anyway, what do you think about the D1, compared to the others?
