I just got a new 14.5 3 wood. Im not sure weather to just take out my 16* hybrid and get a wedge because right now i go 50 to a 58. Part of me feels like theres no need to get another wedge for my game, but im not sure any advice?

i have 3 wedges excluding PW. So if I'm at 95, 80, or 65 yards from the hole.
I can just take one of the wedges, make a full swing, and i'm there.
do you have a distance within 100 yards that you have trouble with?
how often do you use your 16 hybrid in a round?
These are the things you should consider.

get rid of the 58 and get a 56. you will not forget it. I used to have a 60 and a 54. Switching to the 56 allows me to still have the high flops and carry a 50 degree gap wedge insteed of the 54.

    • It isn't about maintaining focus 100% of the time when you are on the course. It is getting focus back for the shot at hand. Even PGA tour players will chat with their caddies or opponents about non-golf stuff, but then lock in. It is hard to try to constantly be 100% locked in for 4+ hours.  Totally normal thing to happen. You really only need a few moments of focus.  This is where a pre-shot routine helps. Maybe you need to add something that gets the focus back.  I just focus on every shot like a puzzle that needs solved. I like solving puzzle and problems. So, I try to be curious. Which then enhances focus. I think it lets me take each shot at hand. It lets me have the down time between shots. What I do is just get to the ball, and then start gathering information. Yardage, lie, wind, where is the pin at, etc.. Then I figure out what I want to do.  It's not like I can't shut off the thoughts and focus when I need to. I only need to focus for a few minutes before each shot.
