I was on looking through some videos on swing plane and I came across this one. When I saw it things sort of clicked for me. I really like that laser device he is using. It has a laser on both ends so you can see where you are on take-away and on the down swing.



I see that Butch Harmon has something like this but not exactly like this. I am wondering if anyone has seen this thing before and where I could get one?

i never bought one, i just made on emyself with an old club. get a couple cheap lasers, stuff one down the grip and tape one to the hosel, thats how i did it. Its a pretty helpful drill!

Wow. This is great... I've got a cheap laser pointer at home that I'm going to use for this. Thanks for the idea guys!!!

yeah, its simple! just lay down some tape on the ground, put your lasers on each end of the club, and line up the lasers with the tape on your backswing and follow through.

quality instruction - really enjoyed it and easy to follow. I am becoming addicted to youtube golf lessons! Almost hit the cat with an 8-iron yesterday though

Ok so I built a make shift laser swing trainer thing-a-ma-bob and it worked miracles for me. It was the missing piece to my seemingly never ending search for the proper swing plane with my driver. The swing for my driver is the same as my irons but because the driver is longer it feels so much different to stay on the right plane.

When I used the laser to verify the correct swing plane I eliminated my slice problem. Went out and hit balls after verifying the correct plane and no more slice! Took me all of 5 minutes to build a make shift laser thing, verify proper plane and go from slice to no slice.

Too bad I didnt see this video last year.

Not saying I wont slice ever again but at least now I know for sure what my problem is and will be able to fix it when it rears its ugly head.

Yeah, I think this is pretty useful, although for me, it didn't seem to help as much with driver - but I had nice results with my longer irons and woods.

I'll keep this in the practice routine for a while.

      Day 206 3-11 Focused on wider backswing and reconnecting arm in downswing. Wasn't really happy with how swing was looking today. Wider backswing is very different for me. Went back to do a some longer pauses at the top. Hit a few foam balls.

      This is an awesome breakdown. most of the bigger tournaments usually have one wave with the advantage, Thank you for the breakdown. If it is soft then it will be a lower final score

      Over the past 15 years, the winning score has ranged from -10 to -20. Mostly around -13.  Here is Thursday and Friday weather. Saturday and Sunday weather. I think the course will play soft. Plenty of sky cover, lots of rain on Thursday. Fairways and greens will probably stay soft throughout the week.  In terms of tee times, I think Thursday morning and Friday afternoon have the biggest advantage.       Things that I am or have worked on... 1.    Trail Elbow - Check 2.    Hip Turn - Check 3.    Rolled Inside - Check 4.    Wide Takeaway - Check 5.    Sway and Tilt - Nope, but I did a hip turn and tilt 🤣 I am giving myself 4.5/5 for my long backswing.  Great post!

      We have a very difficult but mostly showy course this week. Lets see what they got. This course offers so many chances to get into trouble it is really a mental minefield. I am excited to see who can handle it and who cant. Last year we got a foreshadowing of JJ and Rory, I am excited for this year Who do people have winning? what will the winning score be? I am thinking 12 or 13 under
