Bought new clubs but I am confused.

Just picked up some new clubs and I am confused. They are Dunlop Tour TI 17 piece set, however, there are only 12 clubs in the set.

3 wood
5 wood
putter
5 iron
6 iron
7 iron
8 iron
9 iron
P Wedge

Then there are 2 clubs that I don't know what they are. The engravements say J and 18. The 18 club has a head cover. Should I take them back? What am I missing?

The 18 means 18 degree hybrid. Its a hybrid club. J might be a wedge

I think J is a 22deg hybrid.

I think you're right. Notice his set doesn't have a 3 or a 4 Iron. A lot of the newer sets replace those with hybrids.

Wondering why called "J".....all other hybridy has alphabetical ID? Hybrid usually has degree and/or number it meant to replace the corresponding iron.

A lot of time those box sets that say 17 or 18 pieces include all the pieces in the set, not just the clubs themselves. They will count things such as headcovers and sometimes the bag as well so don't worry about missing many clubs. Its just a marketing thing to make it seem like you're getting more. Most of the box sets will all have the max number of clubs they just inflate the number by counting all the add ons.

According to this site http://www.workwearhouse.co.uk/shop/..._Golf_Set.html it's supposed to be 5-SW irons - so my guess is that the J actually is a S.

If the J/S has a shorter shaft and the clubhead has more bounce it is sand wedge, other wise probably a hybrid.
