So i got my new snake eyes irons today. With this set up i only have the 5-9 iron. So when i use this set ive got a free spot in my bag. I dont use a 3 wood... Cant hit them never have been able to.. And i have yet to be in a situation where my 19* hybrid didnt do just fine. So here is what i wanna know, what should i do to fill the one spot? Go with another wedge.. Ive got a pretty big gap from my pw 47* and my 53* so that was my obvious choice but i really dont know. Any ideas?

You could go with a different lofted hybrid, but if your short games excellent go with the wedge. It really fepends on what your game favours.

Good luck.

I would recommend a 16* or 17* hybrid, which ever loft it comes in for your selected brand. You aleady have all of your wedge distances covered, and a 64* wedge is just a bit too much for its purpose.

I hit my 17* hybrid as far as my poorly hit driver off the tee box (240 yards). The hybrid club is just absolutely so easy to hit off the deck compared to a 3 wood.

edit:
To address the gap in your wedge issue; switch from a 53* to a 51* and it would give you a nice distance difference amongst your wedges.

I think the last post had it spot on in that you change the loft of the wedge first and maybe you consider the 17 degree hybrid. I use the 17 degree off the tee and off the fairway and the result is certainly more consistant than the 3 wood. However I imagine it all depends on whether you want that extra distance off the tee or the fairway, sounds like you don't need it?

When I have 13 clubs in the bag, I sometimes ponder buying a left-handed club for those rare situations where I need it.

Then I realize I can't hit those and it probably isn't worth my practice time to learn.

I picked up a used left handed junior 6/7 iron to carry during tournaments, etc for about $15. You may not hit it great but probably better than trying to hit a wedge upside down (which you are still swinging left handed). Also, it can save you from an unplayable lie.

On the original post, my own preference would be another wedge if you don't want a left handed club.

    • Day 23: weird day, and only had a little bit of time. Just did mirror work again, working on where the elbow is in the downswing
    • I flipped over to this tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it. Anyone else watch? I picked it up during the golf relay event, but seeing these pros out having fun in alternative events was refreshing and entertaining. I’m sure it will be on in reruns in the next week or so, so I won’t spoil the outcome. Im curious what others thought of it. I’m recording it’s later airing to see the beginning.
    • Day 443 - 2025-12-17 Made a few swings in testing some things out at another academy. Might pop up on someone else's podcast in a few weeks.
    • Day 37 (17 Dec 25) - nine hole round with my good friend.  We got paired up with a couple of the men’s group regulars as part of their shootout.  Started off with a wonderful quad bogie and then a dbl on three to be six over thru three holes.  Game went 180° over the next five as I shot one under (including a chip in birdie on hole six and four up and down 1 putt pars) for a net finish of five over. What could have been a really tough nine became a solid finish due to staying in the moment and not checking out.  Great day in course management and keeping perspective .
    • Day 127 12-17 Backswing and flow practice. Took advantage of the 60 degeee weather(it was 20 degrees Sunday)
