I want to get fitted in the near future for a new driver (Titleist 907 D2/Ping G10/HiBore XLS) top of the list, fairway wood & iron sets (Titleist AP2/ZB Forged or Nike CCi).

Where is the best place to get fitted for these things in the New York City Area?

It depends on how much you want to spend and how elaborate of a fitting you want.

If money and time is no issue, I would go to the "Complete Golfer." They are located in White Plains and are affiliated with Max Out Golf Labs. A fitting last a little more than three hours. They will fit you for all of the equipment you listed plus putter and balls. Send me a PM and I'll give you all the details. They are really concise and make sure you are completely satisfied.

Custom Golf of Connecticut was recommended to me, but I've never been. Anyone know of them or anyone else (maybe closer)?

Doesn't Golfsmith or World of Golf do club fitting? If so, there are locations in Manhattan...GOOOOOGLE :)

If you don't mind heading into Jersey, I can personally recommend Tim Mosel. He's a "Class A" PCS certified club fitter and maker, with his own shop about a half an hour west of the GWB just off Rt. 80 in Denville.

He fitted me and built all my clubs, and is not only passionate about what he does but is also a super nice guy in person. He won't steer you wrong.

You can check out his web site here.

Bag It:

3-Wood Wishon 525 F/D, 13*, Matrix Studio 65gm, Golf Pride Dual Compound
Hybrid: Wishon "321", 24*, MSF 85 HB, Winn DSI
Irons: Wishon 770CFE, Matrix Studio 74gm, Winn DSI

Putter: Odyssey DFX 2-Ball

Bag: Some big, honkin', ridiculous overkill of an Ogio cart bag with more pockets than I have teeth.

i would never get fit from a spot like that.... maybe for my 1st set that i'm just learning on...but for a proper fit, I heard nothing but great things about that Tim Mosel guy out in Denville.30 minutes west of the GWB's ABOUT right...maybe 40 at the longest.

You'd better upgrade that MB to a McLlaren SLR. You'll get there in TEN

hahaha. i wish...but I actually live about 10 minutes from Denville in Livingston. and I was talking about 60mph on 80...but for those that don't know 80....

from the GWB till about exit 42, you can whip your car at 85mph with no risk of cops!

Welllllllllll........

Just be careful in that stretch from Wayne to the rt.280 split in Parsipanny, and then at the base of that long hill that goes up from 202 to x.38. State PD have been known to lurk on the sides at both locations. Not that I *cough* worry about that sort of thing in my very sedate WRX Sti....
