Hello! Late last year I went to TrueSpec for a bag fitting and came away with new irons and wedges which are great for my game.
I’m wondering if anyone has had a putter fitting lately and if there have been actual benefits to your putting?  Would also appreciate knowing where you went for the fitting.

Thanks in advance!

Got fitted for my Edel putter. It was eye opening. I’ve seen others be fit for an Edel putter.

Shape, offset, and alignment lines greatly influence how the golfer will aim the putter. I’ve seen where someone was aiming their putter like 1 ft right, and with a few adjustments to the putter, aimed it true.

Weight and weight balance will impact speed control. For me, it’s 370g in the putter head and 30 grams in the putter grip not including the grip. This got me immediately to control my speed better.

Yep, a proper putter fitting can help.

I did a putter fitting a couple years ago.  I was constantly leaving putts short, really short.  It was like I could not hit hard weed bough.  The fitting showed that the way I contacted with the putter was slightly launching it with some backspin.  The harder I hit it the more back spin I gave it.

He recommended a putter and slightly bent the shaft to lower the loft.  the balls roll true and my distance control is better.

From my own putter fitting experience and what I've read of an Edel putter fitting: An Edel putter fitting is night-and-day different from most putter fittings.

My own putter fitting, a bit more than a week back, was inconclusive, IMO. It mainly verified what I'd determined by other means.

I think "can" is the operative word, here.

In my putter fitting it was determined a 35 in. shaft was right for me, that a standard lie (70°) was w/in 1° of right, and I was striking the ball with fairly consistent loft that resulted in forward spin.  That was pretty much it.  Everything else was, in my mind, inconclusive.

Part of that was my own fault.  It took my club guy at that same LGS to tell me the fault was not with my putter, but, me.  My putting stroke was essentially trash.  (That would go a long way to explain why the data gleaned during my fitting session was essentially all over the map and why the results were so inconclusive.  E.g.: During my fitting I'd a tendency to be open at impact.  After just a week's worth of rhythm drills, I'm now more often closed at impact.)

I don't regard the fitting I did as a having been a complete waste of time and money, but, I wouldn't do it again.  Once I get my swing corrected, develop something resembling some consistency, at least, I may go for an Edel fitting someday.
