I just watched a video on golf balls, and it pretty much confirmed my beliefs. I have heard it said by fellow golfers playing off mid to high handicaps that golf balls don't make any difference, and it's just in your head, however I don't believe this. For example, I am pushing 70 now, I am not a big man, and am far from a big hitter. I presently play off of 18, and my mane concern is getting the ball to travel in a straight line. My requirements are totally different to a single handicapper who can control the ball and hit it a lot further than me. Ball constructions are quite different and designed to do different things, so surely a one size fits all approach must be wrong. After using Srixon Soft Feel, and Srixon Distance for many years I just started using Titeist Velocity. I don't know what my swing speed actually is, but it would appear they must suit it because I am getting another 10% from my shots, and what's more they don't stray anymore than the Srixons. I just wanted to know everyone's opinion on this!
