I use MP67s and they are great club, I am sure any major club manufacture's clubs are going to be great but then again it's about what you can hit the best.

As for the balls, I have never heard of Miz balls before. I used to use Nike One Plats but I switched to Pro-V1 because to be honest I can't really tell the difference between them but the main reason I switched is because everyone thinks they are a "player" and they lose alot of Pro-V1s so when I find them many are in good enough condition to use for play ;)

from blades to a cb...isn't that tough? especially with the profile of the club....nothing beats the profile of the blade...it's like..u just wanna get stuck in the rough 1/2 the time so you can test yourself and work the ball and get the trajectory you want out of the rough...i rarely try to work the ball..so maybe i should've stuck with an iron in the mx series...but the mp60's just give the best feeling, response and added confidence to know that nothing's getting stuck in the rough.... but i did try to swing my pops' new set of big bertha's the other day..and i was hitting chunky....i went back to my clubs and it was night and day of a difference.
congrats on the new clubs...i bet we see that ghin of yours drop by 2 strokes by the end of the season.

I went from R7-XD irons to a set of MP-30's, and man they are as smooth as a knife through butter! A 3000% better feel and I can work the ball so much better now.. the biggest change for me is that the lofts are alot different. My Mizzy 9 was the R7 PW... biggest issue: distance, picking the right club...

I think there might be a misconception about CBs. I'm not saying you but many people think that a CB looks like a hockey blade and is impossible to work. Take a look at the profile of the new Cobra Pro CB series. These are the clubs Jason Gore uses and he does not have a problem working the ball.

oh I believe it..I see a lot of pros using CB's. For me it's all mental. I like the profile of a blade. my 60's are one of those blends b/c blade and cb so it gives me what I like... but you have to admit..there are some cb's out there with HUGE shovel like profiles.

And those Cobra Pro's are awesome....i haven't tried hitting one yet..but they look good.

Hey I just went to the driving range and hit my new clubs and they are sweet even the mishits go a mile and they go very straight.I dont think I have ever hit the ball as straight as I can with these clubs.Just wondering how far does most of you guys hit your irons, just your normal swing not trying to kill it to see if I am in the ball park.Looks like on average I am getting about 15 to 20 yards more than the blades that I was using is this about what should be expected?

How far were you hitting your blades that you've gained 15 to 20 yards?

4 iron 180ish and about 10 yards less per club you know how it is to judge distance between the markers but this is probably as honest as I can be with out walking out and seeing for sure and I am too lazy to do this they need a cart there HAHA....

Posted
do these yardages sound about right,I dont hit as far as some people but I will give up 20 yards for more accuracy any day.If I swing harder it seems to take away from my accuracy a little bit

Yardages are all going to be based upon the power you are able to generate. I would just worry about them being consistent.

I'm playing with the same clubs and hit the 4 iron about 215-220.

I love the MX-19s for my swing now. I don't have the consistency to play something from the MP line yet, although I'm hoping to get things on track this season. I can still tell when I've hit a bad shot with the 19s, but also still get something very playable out of it.

    • Day 37: did my drill swings in the garage with foam balls for about 15 minutes. Working on getting my backswing more turned and then going from there.
    • Thanks but honestly… I don't know any other way. I don't mind being wrong so long as I know where to go from there. I don't like being wrong — I'd love to get things right (which is different than "being right"). I recommend grabbing a furniture slider or a paper plate or something, and doing something like this: First, make a swing where you let your trail foot swing out as you turn, then twist that foot back in. From DL and FO, it'll look like this: Then, during a regular backswing, try to twist your foot in slightly (demonstrated in the left image): You'll notice a crease along the trail side of your hip, your pelvis will "fold" into that thigh (internal rotation of the hip joint), and your "bits" will be squished a little between your pelvis and your thigh. Ben Hogan said once: "At the top of the back swing the groin muscle on the inside of your rt [sic] leg near your right nut will tighten," Hogan wrote. "This subtle feeling of tightness there tells you that you have made the correct move back from the ball." I don't know about that, but you will probably feel something down around that area.
    • Yep. I think it will start to feel even more athletic when we start on the downswing stuff later.  I know, it's just I want to be younger so I have more time to enjoy the changes. 🙂
    • I need to drop a couple of stone. 🙂 😛    Yep. Yeah, but in the end, it feels more athletic, like you're actually using your legs, yeah? As you know… we use the best available info we have. Like others, I was fooled a little by 2D images for awhile (moving or still). Unlike others, I've learned and grown and moved on since then, while they're still looking at their images (often from lousy camera angles).
