I really have to finally ask. Why in the world are people using the phrase "suck back"? It's ridiculous and ignorant sounding. Why not say "spun back"?

What's this really got to do with the topic at hand?

I know the answer, and the result is me saying "let's get back ON topic." You want to discuss this phrase, start a new thread or something.

From what I understand, and has probably been reintereated already, is that the V1x is the harder ball that will give you more distance, but slightly less bite. Its basically a NXT Tour with a V1 dimple pattern. Both will not last more than 5 or 6 holes if you trap the ball well with your irons, regardless if you hit a cartpath or tree with them. Both it seems are balls make specificially for touring pros that can rip them up at will, and are not really designed for the ametuers needs in mind.

I used to play the V1x and stop playing it for the durabillity issue. I could barley get through 9 holes with one of those things. The NXT tours are not really that much more durable, but are at least slighty cheaper. I also heard a rumor that both V1 models in their current spec might be non-conforming next year.

Note that for most players - even those on the PGA Tour - the "less distance" thing is about 1-2%. It's not a big deal.

Uhm, no. Three-piece vs. four-piece. "Fusablend" cover vs. urethane.

The dimple patterns are the different on the V1, V1x, and the NXT Tour, but if you wanted to say two were similar, they'd be the V1 and the NXT Tour. Both have 392 dimples of 5 sizes.

Bupkus. 100% false. Why post trash like that?

We need r7 425 to come back and explain the difference here .

The pro v1 is a softer ball that goes slightly less far than a pro v1x. It is softer and spins more. The pro v1 black is for the dry summmer. The Pro v1x in my view is a fantastic Autumn and Winter ball. Id say that the Pro v1x plays like a Titleist pts and is more expensive. You re better off using an NXT Tour or a Pinnacle Exception, pocketing the change, and buying a new glove or something. Anyway, the differences are actually so minute that its hardly worth talking about, unless you play at a level where it really matters .

    • On the subject of teenagers in professional tournaments there is a kid (Kris Kim) who is a member of my club in England and is at my old school. He’s 16. He’s playing in the pga tour event in Texas this week. Shot 69 yesterday for T31 and is -2 today through 5 holes. T55 and on the cut line. I really hope he makes the cut. Will be awesome.    His dad I believe is a teaching pro and his mum was on the LPGA Tour for a while.
    • I have two contenders here that stick out to me: In second place, a putt to win the hole playing the 16th hole at Burnham and Berrow. Playing foursomes and the green has a big bank at the front then a flat bit and then it goes up again to a back shelf. My partner had hit our second shot onto the back shelf. We were 2up at the time and he was being a little wobbly so we didn’t want to lose the hole. Our oppo were conceded a 4 and my partner told me to just lag it down there nicely. 20 year old me meant to do that and failed. I hit it a bit hard and it was definitely going to clear the tier and probably run off the front of the green, but it hit the hole right in the middle and went in. My partner was very happy we won the hole but quite upset at my ability to follow instructions.    Number 2 is my most memorable. I was about 16 playing in the junior knockout at my club. We get to the 10th hole - long par 4 and index 2. I didn’t hit a very good drive, hit my second up about 60 yards short and pitched on to maybe 25 feet. I started walking and I got this feeling. I knew I was going to hole it. There was no doubt at all. I’ve never felt like that any other time in my life but this one putt was a certainty. It was February and the greens had been recently hollow tined so they were in awful shape. I didn’t even line it up. I hit my putt and it bumped and bounced all over the place until it went in the middle of the hole. If I could bottle up that feeling and sell it I’d be up there with Bezos and musk. Mind blowing!
    • It's strange how ONE person can be THAT much different/better/whatever than anyone else.
    • I saw a YouTube review on a bunch of ball brands and the Maxfli Tour X did very well in comparison. I bought a sleeve and found them to be excellent in feel and distance. But I’m a lousy golfer so nobody probably cares about my opinion. 😃
