the sybase classic presented by shoprite, like all modern golf tournaments dressed in commercial corporate tackyness giving their fervent effort to hijack the soul golf, found its fun as a dance partner. "would you like to buy a time-share at your hilton vacation resort" and other barkings greeted one's entrance ...endtrance??? onto the course.

the golf course has a well-seasoned feel with the many trees of common and exotic varieties maturing along its fairways. i appreciated the efforts of the 1930's greenskeepers who took the time with the plantings to have them become the majestic beauties they are today. i hugged every tree on the course, in my mind in my heart.

lorena's iron play has kept alive speculation whether she is in fact the prophetic return of quetzaquatll, the ancient mayan serpent god who was prophesied to return at the turning of the wheels of time to timelessness of the millennial shift of the 2012 endtime. she embraced one of those majestic trees on #6, a par four where she was behind one from her drive on the right hand side. its was a big wow moment for the gallery when she put her shot to the green through a ten yard opening in the trees branches 20 yards off the ground. everyone assumed she was going to hit a low trajectory shot and go under the limb. it was a better shot than her one on 18 that has received so much press. her putting today suggested she may as well be a plenenary expansion of king kong.

Hmmm. I was thinking: "Good to see Morgan Pressel contending."

watched her hit a few shots, she's cute and also one of the more petite ones out there now, lost her baby fat she had last year, i heard she's a shopaholic and she looks the part, wore a big gaudy ralph lauren sweater with a rider and horse playing polo on it, not too long but accurate, not a comfortable swing for me to watch as she has a very strong grip and i can't figure out how those with them can be so accurate, boo weekley is the same with his grip

one thing i've been musing on is the "lift clean and place" rule for damp conditions. i think its a better idea to have a referee along with each group to decide whether a ball needs cleaning. for one, while it rained on friday, the course wasn't wet on sunday and players were taking advantage of the rule. one player had a side-hill ball below them fairway lie and lifted their ball which wasn't even dirty and moved it 1 club length so they were level with it which completely changed the nature and difficulty of the shot.

i feel the "lift clean and place" should only apply to plugged balls and if someone balls has a little mud on it, so goes the game of golf and the rub of the green

one thing i didn't like was on #8 green, lorena was setting up to putt and then comes charging onto the green these folks who turned out to be immigration officials checking out to see if lorena had green card and working papers. i thought it would of been more appropriate if they would of waited till she putted and left the green without making such a big fuss.

I didn't see the whole tournament, but I assume that you are kidding.

Lorena is Mexico's national hero so that would have caused an international incident.
