If there were a single "best wedge", it'd be much easier to pick which to buy.

For what it's worth, I like my Mizuno wedges far more than my old Vokeys.

All about personal preference, I like the Vokeys. But go and try the mizunos and see what if you like them, they are very good wedges.

I think the Mizuno wedges are a little bit light on the weight side, but it does depend on the player.

I just picked up two Mizuno MP-T wedges and, so far, I like them a lot. They give better feel than what they replaced, which was a Vokey 52 and a Cleveland 56 (both of which were first-purchase used wedges).

I have noticed the most improvement out of sand, which I seem to get into all too frequently.

I like the look of the Cleveland CG12s and the Vokeys...

How do you guys test wedges at the store? Just hit them in the launch monitor and try to get a feel for them? I'd be bewildered on how to pick which one would be the best unless I could lob a handful of balls onto a green with a few different wedges.

How do you guys test wedges at the store? .

Grab some balls off the putting mat, go deep into the store (fishing aisle if you are at Dick's) and start swinging to see what's what.

I have preached this word on here several times before, but if you come across some, you should give them a try, Solus wedges, 7.1 Series, my son has a 61 degree and a 56 degree. He loves them, they have really improved his chipping and full shots from the fairway. He is 5'11'', 15 years old and is a 11 handicap.

Go to a bunch of shops and find the one you like to look at and feels right.

Scratch wedges...scratchgolf.com

Absolute butter wedges, forged from the softest steel on the market. Crazy spin, and a multitude of grinds to choose from that suit your game (if you hit down on the ball, if you sweep it...if you like to lay the face open and flop shots, etc). If you want to spend extra $$, they'll custom make one for you and you can use their customizer on their website. You can custom everything from the length, lie, bounce, camber, grip, shaft, ferrule color, stampings on the back, put your initials, etc.

Anyway, i'll never play another wedge...

    • Day 23: weird day, and only had a little bit of time. Just did mirror work again, working on where the elbow is in the downswing
    • I flipped over to this tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it. Anyone else watch? I picked it up during the golf relay event, but seeing these pros out having fun in alternative events was refreshing and entertaining. I’m sure it will be on in reruns in the next week or so, so I won’t spoil the outcome. Im curious what others thought of it. I’m recording it’s later airing to see the beginning.
    • Day 443 - 2025-12-17 Made a few swings in testing some things out at another academy. Might pop up on someone else's podcast in a few weeks.
    • Day 37 (17 Dec 25) - nine hole round with my good friend.  We got paired up with a couple of the men’s group regulars as part of their shootout.  Started off with a wonderful quad bogie and then a dbl on three to be six over thru three holes.  Game went 180° over the next five as I shot one under (including a chip in birdie on hole six and four up and down 1 putt pars) for a net finish of five over. What could have been a really tough nine became a solid finish due to staying in the moment and not checking out.  Great day in course management and keeping perspective .
    • Day 127 12-17 Backswing and flow practice. Took advantage of the 60 degeee weather(it was 20 degrees Sunday)
