Just got back from TP. The course didn't look too hard. The greens are fast, but most players didn't have a hard time stopping the ball. The 2nd cut is nasty, but the 1st isn't too bad. Saw Tiger play 9 and he looked pretty good. He'll be good to go Thurs. The course is long, but you'll see much better scoring than you've seen in the last couple years.

good,last year it was guys trying just to save par on every hole,and it wasnt as great as its been in the past it sounds like torrey pines will make for a better open the oakmont did last year

Did you notice if the players were using more club than usual? For example, HH said that Tiger used a 5W from the rough to a pin 165 yards, away. Did you see of that?

More club from the rough? Sure. The Kikuya isn't long but it grabs your club pretty good. A lot of the players just dropped one in the fairway today instead of hacking it out. The few shots I saw out of the 1st cut (didn't see any shots from the 2nd) the players took a lot of club and still had a difficult time.

Personally I like it when guys struggle to save pars. That's why I love watching the US Open so much.

My camera is a pocket camera and is silent. But all the pros ignore the cameras during the practice rounds (they are only allowed during the practice rounds). Many of them hit 3-4 balls per shot anyways. Tiger hit 2 drives on that pic I took. He went right with his first.

And yeah, during practice rounds, you can take pictures just about whenever. Sometimes you'll get a glare because a pro might be working on something - which is fine.

Looked okay from what I saw, but he only played 9 and didn't push it. I think he'll be fine.

      Day 33 (13 Dec 25) - Worked on weight shift and resetting the left heel during downswing (after listening to a discussion on Golf School this morning on PGA Tour Radio).  It centered on how Jack Nicklaus lifted his lead heel and how long driver champs do as well.  Taking cues from that discussion, worked an exaggerated feel of the left heel working doing some swing drill in the backyard using the 7i.  Wrapped up the session by hitting a few low bump and run shots in the backyard - keeping the process slow and exaggerated.

      It may not have been block practice, though, is one of the main points here. You may have been serving and from the same place, but you were likely trying to do slightly different things. It seems that would only be blocked practice if you were trying to hit the same exact ball hit to you to the same exact place in the far court. I'm not sure that's as random as if the ball that you're given to hit is at different places, too, but again…
