I started out about average with a 49 on the front, then I turned it on when we got to the back and I shot a 42 to wrap up with a 91. This beats my previous by 3 strokes. This score didn't make it on my HCP yet obviously, but my previous two rounds did and it dropped from a 27.8 to a 26.2.

I figure this isn't too bad for having started this game 9 months ago.

Grats man, very good for a 9 month player! I myself shot my best game earlier in the year (81), just a all around great game, and the best part is theres always more improving in golf no matter what. I think a partial reason why i enjoy the game so much.

Great job man! I remember my first 91 - it was my first time posting a differential in the teens. I was so very excited! And I'm excited for you. Well done!

Congrats!

had mine monday... a 45/39 84. My third time under 90 and my first 9 in the 30's... Almost had another 84 today on a much harder course but I missed a 1 foot putt for par on 18 ( it was downhill and I popped it... hit the back of the hole and bounced out). Differential for the round today: 11.6 (the 84 got me a diff around 15)

I had my equal best at my home course the other day which was a 73 in the monthly medal which was exciting. The CCR blew out too which meant I played to +1 which was very exciting. I can see also from the above postst that i am not the only one to change my handicap index on this site as soon as I know it has gone down!

Also pardon my naievity but what is a differential? I don't think I have ever heard of this in Australia except in refernece to cars...

differential = (Score - Course Rating) x 113 / Slope Rating

average differential for last 20 rounds * .96 = handicap index. me getting an 11 differential just means my cap is heading south on the next revision (barring a several rounds of a horrible nature)
