I am looking to get rid of my RAC OS-2's and get a set with less offset and smaller head. I like my clubs, so I was thinking of getting a set of LT-2's...the only problem is that I can't find them in the stores to demo since they are so old. Have any of you played the LT's? Any opinions on them? I have tried the R7 TP's and I like them alot.

I used to play the LTs but switched out of them at the begining of last season or so.

I really liked them but I naturally have a draw and they still had too much offset for me and so I went to the MP67s.

I almost went with the Nike Procombo Tour but fell in love with the feel of the MP67s.

If I were you I would skip the LTs and go for a CB or MB instead. Have you looked at the X-forged or last years Titleists or even this years?

Someone did recommend that I try the Titleist 755's...I'm worried that I am not going to be able to play them though. I've always had a game improvement iron, but now I have dropped my hdcp to a 7 and I want to step it up. I was thinking of the LT's and the R7 TP's, something like that with some forgiveness to it. Thanks for the advice on the LT2's, I didn't know they had so much offset.

At a 7 handicap, you could probably hit any club you choose, just try them out first. The 755's have a small cavity back, so there is some forgiveness there.

Thank you for saving me some money!! ;) I won't consider selling my OS-2's until I am below a 10.... I have a long way to go!!!

Have some confidence man. Your a 7 hndcp, you'll be able to hit the 755's...people act like hitting the 'thinner topline' clubs or blades are IMPOSSIBLE. That's what everyone used back in the day. You can do it.

The LT2's are not that different from the OS2 from what I've heard, so I don't know if it's even worth it.

Handicap does have something to do with it but quite frankly it has more to do with your swing and your ball flight characteristics.

If you don't fighting a huge slice, don't have trouble getting the ball up in the air or have a lot of really bad misses, there isn't really much reason you couldn't hit a more forgiving CB/MB. If you have hook or a draw, there is no need to play a "Game Improvement" iron, it's only going to make it harder to correct that draw/hook. I still think a nice control fade is the best ball flight and if you can hit that with a nice CB/MB iron you're golden! A blade or a club with a small CB/MB would be a stretch but I know plenty of golfers with pretty good swings and they would shoot the same score regarless of what clubs they use, they just have too many blowup holes or they are just too crazy off the tee.

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
