I have played them. I agree with the Golf Digest assesment that they are in fact excellent clubs. I still preferred the Adams Hybrids, but just like all of Jesse Ortiz's past endeavors, this club is very solid.

I second that. I play both the 3w and 3hybrid and love them. Classic look and great performers -- solid out of the rough as well. Definitely worth putting on the demo list if you're looking for new clubs.
Cleveland - HiBore XL (9.5* Fuji Fit-On Gold Stiff)
Bobby Jones/Jesse Ortiz - 3W & 21* H3 (Stock Stiff)
Ben Hogan - Apex FTX 4-FW (Apex 4 shafts)
TaylorMade - rac TP 56.12 satin & 60.6 black
Scotty Cameron - Mil-Spec Newport 2 (33" standard)

I have a Bobby Jones 3 wood and like it much much more than others I tried. (Callaway, Taylor Made, and King Cobra...)

It's a lot different feel than the other ones out there today, just more of a traditional look and feel. I really love it. It's a club you must try first because it is so different than the other modern fairway woods on the market today.

Love this club. Off the tee, off the fairway, even out of some hairy lies. So much b etter than I was expecting. Not a game improvement club, but so much feel for a fairway wood.

Wish there was a way to demo these, I think they are mail order only (or Ebay). How workable is this club? Looking for something to work left or right, thinking of trying out some of Titleist's latest offerings....seems you are happy with it. Did you try it before you bought it? If so, where?

I did not try it before I bought it. I just took the plunge.

I think it would be workable, it is not a club focused on forgiveness as much as it is feel for solid contact. I pretty much just play a draw, so I wasn't working the ball much, but I could bend it to the right when swinging it on the range.

If you are a 5 handicap, and looking for a fairway wood that is geared more towards feel than game improvement, you might want to give it a shot. If you were a 25 handicap who was looking to get the most distance out of toe balls and heel shots, I don't think this would be a good club for you. I use a square head driver, which is all about mitigating damage on mis-hits, and this has a drastically different feel (like comparing my x-forged 8I to my x-18 8I).

My biggest concern was distance, I was worried that this would not go as far as some of the more high tech looking fairway woods. But when I hit it, I smoked it, and it went plenty far for my liking.

I did not buy it online, I bought it at a golf store in manhattan. If they're offering a 30 day money back gurantee, might as well give it a shot. Why not?

Got one, and love it!! 3 wood, 15*, stiff shaft. Goes farther than any other 3 wood I've ever hit, and is workable and just feels great. The sole of the club works through longer grass too. Of the deck - great!!!

For what it's worth, 2nd shot on the 18th hole par 5 at my club. Plays 580. I was 257 out, with a carry over a pond to a 2 tier green. Hit the 3 wood to the top deck on the fly, baby fade. Needless to say this is staying in the bag!!!!!

Yeah, I went into a slump with it - took it out my bag, but it's a good club...I just got to a point where I couldn't hit it straight, lol. But I've always liked the feel.

    • Day 1 (19 Jan 26) - after a week lay-off due to travels, felt great to get in some drills in the backyard today.  Started with lead arm only short pitches focused on squared face and light divot post ball.  Haven’t done this in a while and it showed, with some skulls and slices.  Settled into easy flighted balls - wrapped up with standard two handed swings.  Good restart to the daily drills.

    • Day 19, 1/19.  Finished work in time to spend 25 minutes hitting balls (hit 15) indoors, off a mat, into the net.  Usual focus.
    • Day 30 - 2026-01-19 Got 10 minutes in on the mat / net working on exagerrating movements I'm working on. And grip. Also worked with my friendly AI to summarize key negative tendencies I have so that I can build a personal checklist to follow. Will do more mirror work tonight.
