I went into my Dad's garage yesterday and pilfered every manner of unused driver I could find. One was a persimmon head. A Northwestern that is smaller than my 5 wood. Dirty old clubs with dents and dirt on them. I am just trying to supplant my driver that I cannot hit straight for the life of me.

As I was collecting, I noticed an old Ram hybrid my Dad bought a couple seasons ago. He didn't like it and it had been collecting dust ever since. It is a 3 iron, I believe, and I hit the thing dead straight, 180 yards (plus or minus 10) every single time off the range mat. 180 has always been a trouble yardage for me. If I make perfect contact with my 3 iron I can hit it that far, but that is a rarity. This thing is so forgiving and even when I tried my damndest to slice it I couldn't.

Last time I tried using hybrids it was a slicey disaster...I am really looking forward to using it tomorrow.

I'm right there with ya man, discovered mine about 2 weeks ago.

I rarely get ahold of my 4 iron and hit it deep. I grab a hybrid made by a sideshow company in Maltby (nice people though), and start CRUSHING balls 20 yards farther and about 300% straighter. What I found too is I can sacrafice a little "smoothness" in my swing and really rip-it-and-grip-it, and still get good accuracy. I may even used them as my woods and still keep my long irons.

The next day I bought a Nike hybrid that I haven't yet used since it's rained 5 days in a row, all day (it's amazing, I'm about to call Noah!), but I can't wait to use that thing.

I will be playing three par 3s tomorrow.

177 yards (flat), 220 yards (elevated tee) and 190 yards (over water).

Looking forward to pulling out this hybrid (actually labeled as a rescue club) on the tee each time.
