She is doing things the right way IMO; a very solid amateur player, turned pro and is working her way through the ranks learning how to compete. Michelle Wie could take a page from her book.

Didn't she have a father or mother die shortly before she played in the US Amateur a couple of years ago? Seems like I remember something sad that had happened to her. Glad she is doing so well.

Hurst's father died of a stroke while she was trying to qualify for the Ginn Open.

Morgan Pressel's and Dakota Dowd's mothers each died of breast cancer when they were young teens.

Dakota Dowd's mother died? I didn't know that wow. It was not too long ago ESPN did the special on the two.

Yes, Dakoda's* mother, Kelly Jo Dowd, passed away in May 2007 at the age of 42. The Ginn Open winner's trophy was renamed in her memory. Lorena Ochoa was award the first "Kelly Jo Dowd Trophy" earlier this year when she won the Ginn Open in April.

*I misspelled her name in my original post - sorry.
