I just read that Vicky Hurst won her 3rd Future's Tour event this past weekend.

Does anyone know if the LPGA gives an automatic "battlefield promotion" for players on the developmental tour with 3 wins in a season (like the PGA does for the Nationwide Tour)? Thanks.

I don't believe there is a battlefield promotion of any kind for Futures Tour success. However, if anyone wins three times on the Futures Tour, they should definitely get an automatic promotion to the LPGA Tour. In all reality though, anyone who wins three times will probably finish high enough on the money list (top three get their LPGA Tour card I believe) anyway.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

No "battlefield" promotion, and top 5 on the money list get LPGA exemptions. I remember a girl from the big break finished 5th two years ago and got a spot, I think she earned 30-40 grand or something like that for the year.

She's from Melbourne, FL. Played for Holy Trinity Academy (High School). She dominated the local scene. I believe she competed in an LPGA event earlier in the year and missed the cut if I remembr correctly. As a previous posted stated, has an exception coming up. Since she is playing well right now, should be interesting to see how she does with the "big girls".

its good that there is another upcoming young star

but from the scores i see in GolfWeek, winning on the futures tour can't be too hard if you've got game

and she does

Even on the Duramed Futures Tour, winning 4 times in 8 events is pretty doggone good. Don't forget Lorena Ochoa, Nicole Castrale, Karrie Webb & Cristina Kim (among others) played on the Futures Tour, so although it's a pretty weak Tour, some (although very few) pretty good golfers got their start there. And it wouldn't be a major surprise if Vicky Hurst turned out to be a pretty good LPGA player.

    • So no joke, last evening post work nine must have been the craziest side I've ever played: Bogey, double, double, par, birdie, birdie, birdie, double, birdie. Two gimme birdies, one 15 footer and one bonus bomb from prolly 35 feet on no. 9. Full disclosure, it's a super easy course when greens are running at an 8 with easy welcoming pins. Still, a couple of firsts there. Driver freed me up starting the fourth hole. Anyway, driver notes: 1) anti left left hand grip. 2) no structural bind on hands/grip. 3) left shoulder HAS to get up to chin with humerus completely detached from chest and shoulder socket (feel) Big game tomorrow, aiming to break 80.
