I'm hoping someone here has experience with this.

I just downloaded (legally!) an eAudioBook from my local library, and I want to put it on my mp3 player. (I have a 30GB iPod and a Sansa e200 if that matters).

However, the wma file downloaded as a single file. And its 7 hours of audio. Say I want to listen to the book a while, then listen to some music, then go back to the book. How the heck do I stop listening to the book without losing my place and then have to scan the whole thing until I find my place?

Is there a way to insert a bookmark? Insert chapters?

Thanks in advance.

There are way to break them up. You can download a program and make breaks in it. GO to download.com and see what you can find. The easier way, might be just to remember what time you are at on the audiobook and FF back to that.

I found out that iTunes lets you bookmark. But since the audiobook is a wma file, iTunes won't play it and tries to convert it to mp3 - but can't because it is DRM protected. And it doesn't look like Windows Media Player software can bookmark.

And they wonder why people download illegally . . .

Until ITunes gets with the program and allows other formats, I will not use a Mac or Ipod. It is ridiculous at this point.

Boy, you're just a good ol' Apple hater aren't you? First you spread FUD about the iPhone (that you could have easily checked on the Apple site), then this little ditty?

The iPod (and iTunes) supports: 1) MP3 2) AAC (protected or unprotected) 3) AIFF 4) Apple Lossless 5) your CDs (import into MP3 or AAC, or play from the disc) Replace AIFF with WAV and "AAC Protected" with "WMA" and you've got the same list supported by Microsoft. Oh, gee. Guess you shouldn't support them either, and they're "ridiculous" as well. And I didn't add streaming, MIDI, or various video formats to the list above because, really, who uses MIDI? and video isn't strictly music, etc. So c'mon, dude, because it's getting comical at this point. P.S. Back on topic, guys. Off-topic stuff goes bye bye. If you want to continue your bizarre anti-Apple fetish, josh, take it to a PM or, since I'm the recipient, just drop it. P.P.S. To the OP, I can't help you much with WMA. The iPod and iTunes let you bookmark audio files, but obviously not WMA files, which it won't play. I'm certain there's some Windows software that will likely do what you want, but I can't tell you what it is or where to find it. Some Windows guys will have to help you with that one.
