Ascending Weight in Steel Shafts

Has anyone else heard anything about this? Is there anyone using these shafts?

The weight of the shaft increase the closer it gets to the club head. Here's a post about it.

I was pretty shocked to hear that 85% of the PGA tour uses a shaft that essentially hasn't changed in 28 years.

I'm on my 3rd week with my Ping G10's w/ AWT shafts. The short irons must not be heavy enough b/c I hit those sky high. Not ballooning, just a high trajectory. Could call it a "boring" flight, but it is a high boring flight. No floaters. So if you need help hitting it higher, then the AWT definetly is a option. Longer irons like 4 and 5 irons have a nice trajectory. Thinking about re-shafting 6-PW with Dynamic Gold. Get that ball flight down a bit. I've been lucking out with the wind. Haven't had any real windy days, so the moon balls aren't hurting me.
