Last week I purchased an r7 draw 3 wood. WOW. I've never been a big fan of the woods and I can basically get away with not carrying them just on the basis that I can hit my 3 iron or hybrid far enough to cover the gap. Well today was the first day I really got to use it and boy it was awesome. I didn't hit it off the tee at all, and I only hit it twice in the round. First time I caught it and carried it about 240+ 10 yards of roll. I was very pleased. The 2nd time was on the 18th. I hit a 4 iron off the tee, and I was sitting exactly 250 yards out. Take a nice smooth swing and TINNNG a beautiful sounding shot soars off and lands about 10 yards short. I'm very excited at the prospect of adding this new demension to my game. Not only that but I'm thinking I can probably hit it off the tee, if my drive isn't working for me. I encourage all of you who don't carry or hit woods, to give it a try!

I agree. I used to not be able to hit my woods very well at all and at one point in time I didnt carry any woods in my bag at all. I simply had 1-9 irons, a PW, a sand wedge and a putter.

For some odd reason, lately Ive begun hitting my woods halfway decent and like you said, its adds a whole new dimension to your game. Instead of being short off the tee and depending on strong play with your irons, wedges and putter; you can attack the course much more. Also, Ive grown to love the, "tink" sound of a well-struck shot with a metalwood.

Whats in my :sunmountain: C-130 cart bag?
