YES! it has finally ended.

After trying numerous things over the past few months...I have found a putter.
August 06 - June 08 : Ping G5i Anser
June 25th 08 - July 22nd 08 : Tour Edge Backdraft B6
July 23rd 08 - July 28th 08 : Oddessey two ball
July 28th (practice green, lol) - present : YES! Sophia (3 or 4 year old model) 33"

Not sure what it was, but I couldn't get really comfortable with any putter to be honest. I played great with the Ping for a while, but I just went through a week or two stretch where I made NOTHING except for tap in's...it was bloating my score 35-40 putts per round...UGH. So I needed a change. I got a 30 dollar tour edge at my local pro shop. putted great with it for about 2 1/2 weeks...averaged around 32 or 33 putts a round, very happy, then i hit a wall, could not make a putt with it! went back to about 35 putts per round..got frustrated..shelved it. I went to the oddessey two ball for 3 or 4 rounds..UGH, hated it..I had like a 36 putt round, and couldn't make a 5 footer with the thing to save my life..pretty decent on lags though, i will say...

So, I was going through my garage, and saw my sister's golf bag. She plays golf, at most, once a year. she used to play a lot, when her boyfriend played with her. she's moved on from him, so now she never plays. i was looking at her bag, and spotted the YES! putter...it was really neat looking, so I took it out...I am putting GREAT with it, lol. Today, 26 putts (granted, I didn't hit a lot of greens) but I made a birdie on 17, and 18 (20 footer, and 10 footer) and I was like YES! I've found a keeper.

They really do roll very smooth off the putter face. Eventually, I'll probably save up, or ask for Christmas, for a Scotty Cameron...but for now, I'm very very happy with this!

If you like your current putter why save for a scotty?

Because, I eventually want a Scotty Cameron...just not for a while now.

If you putt well with the yes!, why switch it out for a scotty? Just because they are "scotty camerons" doesn't mean you have to have one. If you're looking to drop more money and feel inadequate with a cheaper (than a scotty) putter regardless of whether it works for you, get a callie forged or something.
yes! putters are nice. I have one myself.

lol. I'm not getting a Scotty next week. Just for the long term, I'm going to go and test a bunch of putters out in a few months...unless I continue to be on fire with this...

    • Which was his second hole, yeah. I talked with Mav's coach/instructor last night, ha ha.
    • Yikes! Colin Morikawa withdraws on 11th tee after the practice swing made his lower back twinge.

    • My flop shots are 6-7° down (AoA). Does that answer it? 😄  The longer answer is… You have to be able to do both shots.
    • I hope you don't mind me raising this one from the dead. I got shortgamechef's video access thing for a few months in 2024. I watched his yip fix videos (the general gist is similar to the first video above, but with a lot more detail) and it made a lot of sense. I was working on it in my backyard off a mat for a while and my yippy thing was mostly gone. Aside from anything else, the flop shot using that technique is so easy and controllable. But I got onto a golf course for the first time of the year and found myself by the green on a downslope with the ball sitting down a little in the rough and I was, not to put too fine a point on it, f***ed. Shallow is all well and good from a good flat lie and I understand it, but you can't make that your be all and end all. I still don't know if it's a good idea to use steep all the time or just when you need to. I have a hard enough time with one technique, let alone too.  Just got a pitching skillest lesson with Erik and unless I misunderstood things some, he wants me a bit steeper. @iacas - where do you fall on the steep vs shallow argument and how do you vary it according to need?
