It is true what they say about getting clubs that are fit for you. 1 week after getting clubs that were made to my specifications and what i wanted i managed to shoot my best score to date by a pretty large margin of 6 shots: 82 on a par 72 course.

Granted, it was a short course of only 6130 yards and a rating of 69.2, slope 121 from the white tees, I still managed it which i'm happy with.

However, as new as the clubs are, my playing partner (he's terrible) managed to snap my brand new 9 iron completely in half in one of the most bizarre ways i could've imagined.

I parked our cart about 20-30 yards up, and about 10-15 yards to the right of where our balls were in the right side rough on the 1st hole thinking that it was clearly out of the way of our target line. I go ahead and shoot and hit the fairway where i was planning. He goes next and manages to punch a laser beam of a shot directly at my bag on the cart and smashed it pretty hard. I thought nothing of it and we all starting laughing about it.

3 holes later i hit one of my best drives of the day and i'm about 135-140 out on the fairway. Go to pull my 9 iron out my bag and lo and behold only half of a damned club comes out of the bag!! I knew immediately it was his shot that caused it because it was right where the 9 iron was. I got pretty ticked off inside, but didn't let it come out. That ending up being my worst hole of the day, but i managed to just forget about the club and kept shooting well.

so now it's time to go to golfsmith and see what they can do for me. I hope they will replace it for free! Crazy day, but good.

Moral of the story: get the right clubs for you and don't think that your clubs are safe!!!!

If you have Callaway clubs, give them a call. They replaced my shaft for free and I broke mine by throwing it.

I threw my clubs into the lake so it's time to start over...

haha, got a little angry or what?

They aren't big brand name clubs. They are Golfsmith Snake Eyes Irons that i pieced together through golfsmith. 675XC forged clubheads: http://www.golfsmith.com/products/SE2577

1/2 the price of big brand name forged clubs and just as good if not better. Seriously, some of the best feeling clubs i've hit yet. These particular clubs have similar dimensions and offsets as the Mizuno MP-57s.
