Anyone here used the grips with the rib on the bottom?

I know they used to be really popular in the 70s. I have an old cut down practice club that has one, and I am starting to think it really fits my hands great. I always seem to be able to get comfortable with it. Think it's worth trying on the full clubs?

Btw, I couldn't resist with that title.

I play a set of MP-33s that have most irons ribbed, but the 6 & 8 irons are "smooth" as you put it. The ribbed grips are nice when I can get a proper grip on the ball. Playing blades, a consistent grip is paramount, but I tend to over-pressure the ribbed grip and also seem to hold it closed at times. I'm probably planning to re-grip all of them to more conventional grips.

My advice? If your grip is consistent and loose, go with the ribbed if you like the feel. If you're really picky with your grip, and always adjust for different shots, go with conventional. I'm the latter...
