Sergio has finished in the top 5 in so many majors that hes just getting closer and closer each time and I agree that he will win a major soon, look out the flood gates might just open up for Sergio, like it has for Paddy.

...Harrington caught fire on the back and destroyed. That's not the same thing as Sergio choking under pressure...

Totally agree with this. A lot of my friends like to throw around the word "choke" when Phil or Sergio or whoever doesn't win, but I think they fail to see how hard it is to actually win on the PGA Tour. Sometimes you do choke, but sometimes you just get beat. I think Tiger's dominance over the past 10 years has made everyone think it's easier for the so-called "elite" players to win out there. And that's simply not the case. There's a huge gap between Tiger and the rest of the field, but not that big of a gap otherwise.

I was rooting for Sergio to win, simply because I hate to see someone dogged by the media like he is being right now, like Phil was in the past, or like any of the "best player yet to win a major" candidates.

We've been hearing the "it's only a matter of time" comment for nearly a decade now. He's had several spendid chances, and managed to lose every one.

While I agree with other posts regarding Sergio's 68 NOT being a collapse, the final few holes of the PGA really proved the saying 'Drive for show, putt for dough." Though I'll give Sergio credit for saving bogey when he found the water on 16. Paddy? 3 HUGE PUTTS IN A ROW! All I could say while watching was 'WOW!'

i can and never root for the excuse making sour looking sergio. the rough was only 3 and half inches it was just super thick. for the players complaining about it dont play the pga or any major if you dont like it.

Nobody complained about the thickness.

They complained that they combed it back into the players. A shot in the rough and you had no chance because it just dove in and buried. And I guess you didn't watch Sergio talk after. Because if you did, you'd see that he made no excuses.

apparently you did not see it either. he gets sour with the media all the time as he did on sunday. he complained about harrington getting a good lie for his third on 18. to me that is a excuse.

Sergio played great on Sunday. Made a couple of bogeys on a couple of tough holes but he had a great round. To me Harrington simply won that with yet another Sunday back nine charge. He was amazing and couldn't miss. Talk about a guy who has changed...

Sergio's game looks a lot better but I'm not totally sold on the 'new Sergio' attitude. He made it a point to talk about Harrington getting a good lie on 18 and him getting a bad lie and sometimes you get bad breaks blah blah blah. It was toned down and worded better but same old Sergio as far as I can see.

While watching the PGA this last weekend, I realized that it is impossible for me to root for Sergio because of his antics in the past(spitting in the cup, whining, etc.) I recognize his great talent and the fact that his attitude has changed, but still I tend to root for his opponent. I believe he will win a major at some point, but I don't believe I will be rooting for him then, either.

    • Day 316 - More swings, full backswing and full finish.
    • Day 132: did some mirror work while watching TV. Worked on backswing stuff primarily.
    • 26 Nov 24 -  It was not a record breaking round by any means, but rather a simple walking of the back nine today playing TBWB (two ball-worse ball) where the challenge is to play the worse of the two shots played - could be an errant drive from the woods, a tree knocked ball that is 100 yds farther back down the fairway, a nGIR ball as opposed to a GIR….the goal today was to stay no worse than bogie thru nine.  Managed to achieve that goal - bogied 7 holes with one dbl and one par to counter the dbl.  It’s about staying focused and not letting a bad shot or lie derail, but rather be an opportunity.
    • Day 208 (26 Nov 24)- Opted to walk 9 today (was the back nine as they had a huge group going off the front) but instead of it being persimmons and blades, I had the regular gamers but made it a TBWB (two ball-worst ball) round.  This really challenges on several fronts - ball striking to be as consistent as possible, course management from non-optimal lies and keeping your head in it as it can be depressing to nail a shot on line-on target and the second rattles the trees right and it’s over 50 yards back and that’s the one you have to play.  The goal was to be no worse than bogie overall (+9).  Finished the round exactly on the number with some solid recoveries, no penalty strokes and only one 3-putt.
