Hi guys,

Little bout me first. I'm a short guy @ 5'3". I'm looking to buy the Taylor made Burner driver 10.5 regular shaft since i liked the feel of it in the launch monitor. Swing speed is around 90, carry about 215-220, and drives avg about 245. I have a few concerns though.

-The shaft is so long at 46".. From wrist to floor I am at about 30.5". When I hit drivers like these in the stores, I choke down on them and inch or 2. I read if I cut off an inch it will lower the swing weight about 3 points. (I prolly need to cut more than that off.. maybe 1.5-2 inches)

-Whats the best way to cut the shaft down and maintain a similar feel? The stock shaft is only 50grams (very light). When the shaft is shortened, flex will be slightly stiffer, but I read on these forums adding lead tape to the club can counteract some of the loss of weight and make the shaft a little more flexible again. I think i'll need a significant amt of lead tape if i cut down 2 inches.

Is cutting the shaft a couple inches and adding alot of lead tape to the back of the club my best option?

Thanks in advance!
