Pick my new toys

Just got my Summer bonus and figured I could put about 200 towards some new golf stuff.

I need a new approach wedge and a hybrid to fill the role of a 2-iron. But I would also love to hear of any other suggestions for what to spend my money on.

I can certainly understand you're desire about the hybrid. Everyone I'm playing with now is using the things. I went with the one in my sig line and am happy with it....although in that particular shaft I should have gone with the regular flex. The stiff is fine on the driver version, though. I'd like to get a 3 H next.

I couldn't begin to advise you on wedges....I'm in need of replacing mine soon, too. It's a confusing market. I used a Vokey 56 degree at the range the other day. It was sweet....one of the first wedges that really felt good to me when opened, square and hooded. I can see the appeal with the oil can finish....this one was starting to "rust" nicely. I didn't like the grip he had on it, though...one of the Winn types that was really spongy. I'd want something much more firm....and preferably corded...especially for a wedge....a club that is gonna get toted around a lot and left laying on the grass with the grip getting damp.


$200.....hmmm.....that would easily cover a premium wedge and some new ammo.


New shoes......new shades......gloves......new bag......lots of things could be accomplished there. Have fun and good luck.

So much stuff is right.

I went into the golf shop on my break this afternoon and couldnt decide what to get. I tried out a Burner hybrid and cleveland black pearl 60* wedge. The Burner was nice, but I couldnt get a feel for the wedge since i was hitting of a indoor mat. I may have to head to the suburbs to try out the wedges.

A nice wedge would be a good purchase. Along with some nice balls, gloves, and maybe shoes??

I'm an accessory nut for some reason. Eversince I got all the clubs I wanted/needed, it's been all down for the little things now. I really need to stop.
