So I've had a lot of spare time at work, and I've been reading up on the new 909 series. I've seen many guys say that they are perfectly happy with the good ol' 905R. My question is this: Do you think a 905R clubhead is worth buying for $100 and reshafting to your specs? Very interested to see the feedback. Thanks,
Nate

Have you thought of getting fitted for a driver? If you buy the 905 and have it reshafted it will cost you $150-$250? and it might still not be the best driver for your swing.

My friend just switched from the 983K to the 905 and I ready don't see any difference in his drives.

That's a great point. I have this thing about spending 3 to 5 hundred on a club. But if I spend it separately I can justify it. If I bit the bullet for a full fitting I'd probably get a FT-I...... I've hit a couple and they are long, but more importantly STRAIGHT!!!!!

There are still many of the pros out there who have stuck with the 905R through thick and thin and they have all the options for all the 909 et al. I would wait a little while to gague the reaction and then have a go for yourself.

For my money I would wait on the 909s. 905R is fine (much better than 907s) but for me (well I would say this as I use one ) you can't beat the 983. I use the E but I have a K as a spare. Fantastic clubs and a bit smaller than the crazy 460s. Buy one from eBay - I got both my 983s for ~£30 (~$60) each - the E with a YS-6 shaft (needed new grip) and the K with an almost new NV-75 shaft.
