60" rear projection. A few years old. Well maintained. Turned it on this afternoon and it now features a blue splotch of death.

Anyone have this problem before?

I did with an old projection tv. It usually means one of two things. First is that one of your 3 cones is misaligned. This is an easy fix for a repair guy. The 2nd is that the circuit board is shot. This is an expensive fix that is usually not worth it.

This is a forum I frequent quite often. They should be able to answer your questions a lot better than a golf forum can. Very knowledgeable people over there. http://www.highdefforum.com/

Go to the Rear Projection TVs Section.

Or you can always go to AVSFORUM.com
They are the largest Electronics forum there is. In fact they might be the largest message board there is.

I go there too, for whatever reason I decided I liked HDF better. No reason against the other, you just can't go everywhere! Like you gotta draw the line on what TV shows you watch! But yes, it is a very good forum as well.
