Sup everyone, just went to a club fitting session/lesson today, and I hit some with the CG Gold irons as recommended by my instructor, and they are pretty ill. My shots were soaring and the club is forgiving with a nice and soft feel. It feels nice to play with a real set, just graduated from a junior set of irons. Probably will end up purchasing these, and I highly recommend them.

with your handicap you may want to consider the CG Reds... not much more difficult to hit and will grow with your game. By the time you are a 10 capper you'll be wanting to control ballflight more and Reds are better for this. Don't get me wrong... both are great... just something to consider.
My Clubs: Callaway FT-i Tour LCG 9.5° w/ Matrix Ozik Xcon 6 stiff; Sonartec GS Tour 14° w/ Graphite Design Red Ice 70 stiff; Adams Idea Pro 2h(18°) & 3h(20°) w/ Aldila VS Proto 80 stiff; Adams Idea Pro Forged 4-PW w/ TT Black Gold stiff; Cleveland CG12 DSG RTG 52°-10° & 58°-10°; Odyssey...

Nice, yeah like I said, these the 1st set of adult irons I've tried consistently after taking a hiatus from golf of about three years. With a fitting, the instructor recommended a stiff flex, 1 inch longer length, and a upright lie angle that I forgot lol, I'll edit when I go and see him tomorrow about it.

I saw those in his bag, and I will ask tomorrow about them, maybe even hit some. I'm not a bad player, theres alot of room for improvement, but I will see if I can hit some with those tomorrow. Thanks for the input.

Sounds like the reds would be better both for where you are now and where you are going. I swear I never cared for Cleveland, but I now carry the CG2s with the CMM steel. I've got an old set of Mizuno MP14s and this CMM feels just as soft to me. Probably the softest cast clubs I've hit but with a ton of feedback at the same time. I promise I'm not a Cleveland rep....LOL

If your ball striking is one of the more solid parts in your game then I would say go with the Red's. If ball striking is one of your weaker points then I would say go with the Gold's.

Here's what I play:

Titleist 907 D2 10.5* UST ProForce V2 76-S | Titleist 906F4 18.5* Aldila VS Proto "By You" 80-S | Titleist 585H 21* Aldila VS Proto "By You" 80-S | Titleist ZB 4-PW TTDG S300 | Bob Vokey Spin Milled Oil Can 54.10 | Bob Vokey Spin Milled Oil Can 60.08 | Scotty Cameron Red X5 33" |

Picked these up earlier this year. Moved away from Mizuno M 60's due to their lack of fogiveness. Don't get me wrong the Miz's were great when the swing was great, but difficult when it wasn't. The best part of the Golds that i found is the shaft combination. Higher launch on the 3-5 and can control the flight on the 8-W. Tried the Reds also and it was very close, end decision came with the shafts on the long irons and the golds being a little more offset and forgiving. (grew up with Ping eye 2's). I would highly recommend these. Purchased in the SP and the golds were $100 less than the Reds - not that big a deal, but something to look into.
I did not get the hybrid combo's - straight set 3-W.

good luck

Cobra L5V - Just waiting for the ZL to have a lower price
Cobra F Speed 2006 3 wood - very underrated 3 wood
Adams Pro Idea 3H and 4H

Taylormade Burner XD 4-AW
Cleveland 48*, 52*, and 60*

Odyssey F7 2 Ball
